What is WiSound?

An entirely new type of speaker, which delivers exactly the same sound to every part of your room, by utilizing:

New research by CEA, the world’s biggest consumer electronics industry authority, shows that much general listening happens ‘off-axis’, which means that consumers’ listening experience is seriously impaired by most speakers’ inability to deliver their optimal sound throughout an acoustic space. To hear most speakers as they are intended to sound requires the listener sitting in an ‘on-axis’ position – in other words, in a very narrow ‘sweet spot’ that restricts consumers’ movement, family comfort, sociability, and which even limits the number of people who can enjoy music together at the same time.

Natural Spherical Omni-directional Sound with Balanced Vertical and Horizontal response
WiSound™ speakers are equipped with balanced Up- and Side-firing drivers for mid and high frequencies. WiSound™ patented Flat In-Room Speaker Response technology uses balanced driver pairs instead of traditional front firing drivers.

This way, we achieve a flat, smooth response with both Direct Sound AND spherical Sound Power in every direction throughout the room.

Thus smooth reflections and natural sound without colorations are formed. This patented design results in Flat (±1dB) In-Room Response, measured according the ANSI/CEA-2034 standard Method of Measurement for In-Home Loudspeakers.

Vertical 360 degrees radiation is balanced and equal with the horizontal 360 radiated sound power.

Inside a room, we listen to two sound fields:

• Direct Sound and
• Reflected Sound

A loudspeaker with Flat In-Room Response, exhibits a perfectly balanced sound in every room and at any position in the room, while the reflected sound (generated from the sound power) is balanced with the direct sound.

Natural balanced sound power throughout a wide listening area
Balanced Sound Power and Listening Window response is the ideal response of a good speaker, with both curves being flat and having a similar shape. This is the most important and unique characteristic of our patent-pending WiSound™ Flat In-Room Responce speakers.

WiSound™ technology
WiSound™ speakers are characterized by the mounting of the drivers for medium and high frequencies both at the sides,(figures below 103) and at the top (figures below 104) at an angle to both the horizontal (figures below 101) and the vertical plane (figures below 102). The placement of drivers this way results in a flat In-Room frequency response, according theANSI/CEA-2034 standard (Measurements at the bottom).

Advantages of WiSound™ technology
Overall, WiSound™ technology has the following benefits:

1. The sound is properly balanced throughout the whole listening area; not just in the on-axis position in front of the speakers. In other words, the sweet spot, from a tight and specific area as it is with the conventional technology, widens to the dimensions of almost the entire listening area, with the instruments outlined in space, simulating live music listening conditions.
   
   
2. The sense of space is balanced,releasing the audio experience from small listening room limitations, as the reflected sound is stronger than the direct, even in small spaces close to the speaker, but not more than what is needed for the proper sense of space
   
   
3. The sound is perfectly natural and enjoyable, just like in live music.
   

Apart from the appropriate choice of drivers and their placement as described, equalization (active or passive) is being used.

Lastly, the Sound Power response curve is identical and at the same level as the On Axis response at all frequencies, in order to achieve a constant Directivity Index close to zero DI = 0, i.e. Balanced Directivity and not just very high constant directivity, as existing technology does.

Ευχαριστούμε και για την ενημέρωση απο την ανάρτηση και για την υπενθύμιση της έκθεσης. Τότε είχαμε ακούσει πολύ καλές κριτικές από πολλούς επισκέπτες της έκθεσης, για το πρωτότυπο που παρουσιάσαμε στο δωμάτιο της Crystal Audio. Μάλιστα υπολογίζαμε να το είχαμε σε παραγωγή σε λιγότερο από 3 μήνες από τότε. Η καθυστέρηση μπορεί να φαινεται μεγάλη, αλλά στην πραγματικότητα τους επόμενους μήνες έγιναν εξαιρετικές βελτιώσεις, που οδήγησαν σε νέα πλεονεκτήματα, για τα οποία έχει κατεθεί νέα αίτηση ευρεσιτεχνίας στην Ελλάδα και στην Αμερική. Τα τελικά ηχεία είναι ήδη σε παραγωγή και αναμένονται να βρίσκονται όχι μόνο στην Ελλάδα, αλλά και σε πολλές άλλες χώρες του εξωτερικού τον Οκτώβριο..

Μετά απο παρουσιάσεις των πρωτοτύπων σε reviewers των πιο έγκυρων περιοδικών στην Αγγλία, oι κριτικές που απέσπασαν τα τελικά πρωτότυπα ήταν διθυραμβικές και η τεχνολογία WiSound χαρακτηρίσθηκε "game changing". Ελπίζουμε ότι σύντομα και πολλοί άλλοι reviewers από τα πιο έγκυρα περιοδικά και sites τεχνολογίας, σε διάφορες χώρες, που θα παραλάβουν για τεστ ηχεία παραγωγής τον Οκτώβριο, θα συμφωνήσουν μετά την ακρόαση, ότι δεν έχουν ακούσει άλλο ασύρματο ηχείο τόσο καλό, ασχέτως τιμής.

Η νέα τεχνολογία ισορροπημένης κατευθυντικότητας WiSound βάzει τον πήχυ τόσο ψηλά, ώστε η ηχητική ποιότητα να είναι προφανώς ανώτερη από κάθε άλλο ηχείο συμβατικής κατευθυντικότητας, ασχέτως τιμής, όσον αφορά την μουσικότητα, την τονική ισορροπία , την ρυθμικότητα και την αίσθηση του χώρου χωρίς sweet spot σε κάθε δωμάτιο κια τοποθέτηση.

Το ενδιαφέρον είναι εξαιρετικό και οι προσδοκίες αντίστοιχες για την πρώτη παρουσίαση ηχείων παραγωγής στην IFA στο Βερολίνο, 5-10 Σεπτεμβρίου 2014, την άλλη εβδομάδα. Εκεί αναμένονται αρκετοί δημοσιογράφοι από μεγάλα μέσα του εξωτερικού που έχουν δείξει εξαιρετικό ενδιαφέρον. ΄
