Γουιζογιώργη έχω windows 10 από τότε πού τα έδωσε για δοκιμή η Microsoft.

Απορώ γιατί κάποιοι, και είναι πολλοί σε όλο το κόσμο, έχουν XP.

Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10122

Here are some issues we have fixed

• We have fixed the visual glitch (“rectangle slivers”) that appears on Live Tiles on the Start menu with the new tile animation. In general, performance of the Start menu should be better in this build.
• We believe we have fixed a lot of the crashes with Microsoft Edge (Project Spartan) reported by Windows Insiders.
• Developers – when you go to Settings > Update & Security > For developers – it no longer crashes the Settings app.
• We fixed the issue some people were seeing where their graphics driver fails to install from Windows Update with error code 80070103. This was happening because WU was trying to re-issue the driver.
• You should now be able to edit the IPv4 properties of an Ethernet adapter on your PC.
• We have fixed issues where fonts would render blurry on High DPI displays. We’re cooking up a blog post we plan to publish shortly that talks a little more in depth about our investment with High DPI in Windows 10 so watch for it.
• We have fixed some keyboard shortcuts in Microsoft Edge. Control + L or Alt + D shortcuts now got to the URL bar more reliably.

Here are some known issues for this build

• See my note above regarding the issue on PCs with AMD GPUs and frequent crashes in Microsoft Edge.
• Upgrading to this build on certain PCs may fail and roll back to the previously installed build with error 0x80070057 – 0x20007. This is a bug where too many device INFs are being migrated and hitting an internal limit. Possible workaround is to use Disk Cleanup to clean up system files and choose Device driver packages, Previous Windows installations and Temporary Windows installation files. You may also need to remove unnecessary peripherals and remove them from Device Manager and trying the upgrade again.
• In this build there is a bug that may cause issues with Cortana speech. If you are experiencing problems with speech recognition, or are getting errors when trying to speak to Cortana, please visit this thread on the Windows Insider Program forum for assistance in recovering from this bug.

Microsoft Edge, οι νέες δυνατότητες και τα γνωστά προβλήματα

New

• HTML5 date/week/month inputs are now supported by default
• CSS3 cursor values (zoom-in and zoom-out) are now supported
• SIMD is now supported in ASM.js scenarios (needs to be enabled via about:flags). More info here
• Preview New Tab Page now features top sites, featured apps, and curated content from MSN
• InPrivate mode is now supported
• Sites can now be pinned to Start
• History view is now functional
• Reading view icon now animates when suitable content is detected
• Tabs now have icons to indicate when they are playing audio or recording

Known Issues

• Full-screen content is not yet truly full-screen

Αυτό το "Project Spartan may crash on devices with AMD GPUs" πώς θα πρέπει να το εκλάβει ο μέσος χρήστης με AMD GPU; (δεν είμαι, απλά ρωτάω)

Σου λένε ευγενικά ότι αν έχεις AMG GPU μην ασχολείσαι ακόμα.

OK, απλά έτσι αποκλείουν (εμμέσως, πλην σαφώς) μια αρκετά μεγάλη μάζα (δεν θα την χαρακτήριζα "κρίσιμη", αλλά είναι σίγουρα υπολογίσιμη) χρηστών μέχρι να διορθωθεί το πρόβλημα. Με τα όσα ακούγονται και διαβάζουμε, καταλαβαίνω ότι η προσπάθεια της Microsoft με τα Windows 10 είναι να πετύχει την μεγαλύτερη διείσδυση στην αγορά από ποτέ - και το συγκεκριμένο πρόβλημα είναι εμπόδιο σε αυτήν την προσπάθεια.

Δεν τίθεται θέμα απλκλεισμού. Το προϊόν είναι ακόμη στο στάδιο ανάπτυξης, δεν υπάρχει στην αγορά.

Σιγά το εμπόδιο... εξάλου δεν ήταν λάθος της Microsoft αλλά της AMD και ήδη υπάρχει update που λύνει το πρόβλημα

Σήμερα πάιζω με το Hyper-V των 10.
Με το εργαλείο Disk2vhd έφτιαξα ένα image του δίσκου του παλιου Η/Υ με τα Windows 7 και το έβαλα σε μια νέα Virtual Machine στον νέο Η/Υ με τα Windows 10.

Αλεξ θέλω ένα iso του MacOS

Υπάρχει δυνατότητα να περάσουμε από Windows 7 σε 10 χωρίς να χάσουμε όλα τα προγράμματα που δουλεύαμε στα 7;

Βασικά, για να επεκτείνω λίγο το ερώτημα του xfader (δεν θυμάμαι εάν απαντήθηκε προηγουμένως), τα καλόπαιδα από τη Microsoft ξεκαθάρισαν εάν οι αναβαθμίσεις από Win 7/8/8.1 σε Win 10 θα γίνονται με clean installation (=απώλεια δεδομένων) ή με κάποιον άλλο τρόπο;

Μέχρι στιγμής μιλάνε για δυνατότητα upgrade από Windows 7 και άνω...
βέβαια παίζουν πολύ σημαντικό ρόλο τα προγράμματα που έχει ο χρήστης και το hardware του κάθε Η/Υ.
Προγράμματα και drivers που είναι πιστοποιημένα για Windows 8/8.1 δεν θα έχουν πρόβλημα, για τα μη πιστοποιημένα πρέπει να δώσει αναβάθμιση ή λύση ο εκάστοτε κατασκευαστής.

OK, το διάβασα. Άποψή μου είναι ότι εφόσον η πληροφορία δεν "βγήκε" από "επίσημα χείλη" της Microsoft, αλλά από την AMD, θα πρότεινα να "κρατήσεις μικρό καλάθι", μέχρι να μάθουμε επίσημη ημερομηνία από την Microsoft.
