In order to sharpen our focus on our core Windows 10 Camera and Photo apps, we are ending support for some Lumia apps. These apps won’t be removed from your devices, but they’ll no longer be available from the Windows Phone Store (with immediate effect), and after October 30, 2015, online services and updates for these apps will end.

What apps will be affected?
Lumia Storyteller, Lumia Beamer, Photobeamer, and Lumia Refocus will no longer have online services available, and they will no longer be updated after October 30, 2015.

Lumia Panorama and Video Uploader will continue to work if you have them, but they will no longer receive updates or support.

None of these apps will be available in the Windows Phone Store with immediate effect, but if you already have them installed, they won’t be removed from your device.

The Surface Book is on sale today. Pre-orders have been huge—Panay says they’re selling laptops faster than they can make them. He’s crystal-clear on the importance of this device to Microsoft’s business, especially on the heels of the Surface Pro 3 and 4, which gave the Surface line its first real momentum. But as soon as we start talking about it, he gets distracted by a CNC machine that’s milling a Surface Book’s bottom bucket. Panay just watches it for a moment, carving over and over to form the antenna gap. A few machines away, another machine works on a prototype of a new phone. And there are rooms everywhere in Building 87—top-secret ones—filled with new devices. Panay has to go check on them, too.

Να ρωτήσω μια χαζή ερώτηση (με την διευκρίνιση ότι δεν έχω διαβάσει όλο το manual του Lumia 640 XL):

Εκτός από την κλασσική σύνδεση με mini USB, υπάρχει άλλος τρόπος να συνδεθεί το τηλέφωνο σε Smart TV και να μπορείς να δεις τα media files (φωτογραφίες, βίντεο κλπ.), που είναι αποθηκευμένα στη μνήμη της συσκευής στην οθόνη της TV?

Καλημέρα, Γιώργο κι ευχαριστώ πολύ για την πληροφορία.

Το παραπάνω link παραπέμπει σε ένα απαραίτητο (??) αξεσουάρ της Microsoft, το Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, υποθέτω φυσικά σε περίπτωση που η Smart TV δεν έχει ενσωματωμένο miracast.

Ψάχνοντας να το εντοπίσω στην Ελλάδα, το βρήκα κάπου στη Βόρεια Ελλάδα, αλλά με τιμή κοντά στα 80 ευρώ, πολύ μακρυά από αυτήν που προτείνει (και διαθέτει για online αγορά) η Microsoft ως MSRP ($59.95). Υπάρχει ακόμα φτηνότερο στο Amazon, αλλά με τους περιορισμούς του Capital Control, είναι σχεδόν αδύνατη η αγορά του από το εξωτερικό.

Ψάχνοντας ακόμα περισσότερο, εντόπισα ως εναλλακτικό προϊόν το Measy A2W II Miracast Dongle, το οποίο - σύμφωνα με το μαγαζί που το διαθέτει - είναι συμβατό και με Windows 8, σε αντίθεση με άλλα παρόμοια προϊόντα, που αναφέρονται μόνο σε λειτουργικά Android ή iOS (Apple).

Ευχαριστώ, Γιώργο, θα το προσπαθήσω. Πάντως, και επειδή τα φτηνότερα βρίσκονται στην Αμερική, είναι σχεδόν αδύνατο να αγοράσεις από ebay λόγω του capital control. Αυτό που δεν ξέρω είναι τί μπορεί να γίνει αν δοκιμάσω να το πάρω από κάποιον ebayer στην Ευρώπη (π.χ. Γερμανία). Αν κι εκεί νομίζω ότι πληρωμή με Paypal είναι αδύνατη. Τουλάχιστον όσο προσπάθησα να το κάνω για κάποιο άλλο αντικείμενο πριν λίγες μέρες.
