Pere Ubu συνεχεια με ενα απο τα καλυτερα και σημαντικοτερα εφταιντσα της δεκαετιας του 70 αλλα και ολων των εποχων. Επαναπροσδιοριζαν τα (νεα) ορια της ροκ 'ν' ρολ κουλτουρας σε 5 λεπτα δειχνοντας τον δρομο για τους νεους καλλιτεχνες και ανοιγοντας πορτες ερμητικα κλειστες μεχρι τοτε για την ροκ/ποπ κουλτουρα. Η οξυδερκεια του χοντρου σε ολο της το μεγαλειο.

Ανάσες, τιτιβίσματα, ψίθυροι, αναστεναγμοί, άριες με θεραπευτικές ιδιότητες χαρακτηρίζουν τα κομμάτια του πολύ Stephane Picq. Πολυεπίπεδα κομμάτια που απαρτίζονται από μία πανσπερμία ήχων με κάθε νότα να είναι μία ψυχή που αποζητά καταφύγιο. Ο Picq μόνο ως μία μήτρα που γεννά κομμάτια μπορεί να χαρακτηριστεί και οι συνθέσεις του αποτελούν μία μεγάλη μάνα.

Είκοσι χρόνια από την πρώτη φορά που το άκουσα ακόμα σκέφτομαι πώς θα μπορούσα να ακουστει καλυτερα. Είναι ένας καταλύτης που ωθεί την ηχητική αναβάθμιση.

Ηταν 1976 κι ο Charles Hayward (με προϋπηρεσία στους Gong και στους Quiet Sun του Manzanera) ιδρύει μαζί με τους Charles Bullen και Gareth Williams τους εκπληκτικούς This Heat, μια μπάντα που εμφανώς ήθελε να ταράξει τα λιμνάζοντα τότε νερά της μουσικης σκηνής, είτε των δεινοσαυρικων prog groups, αλλα ακόμα και των ανερχόμενων new wave και punk τα περισσότερα απο τα οποία ηταν απλοί forerunners. Τον Charles ομως δεν τον χώραγε ο τόπος, ήθελε να πειραματιστεί, είχε τρομερές ιδέες, είχε όραμα, είχε στόχο, και τον υλοποίησε με το καλημερα με αυτό το τρομερό ντεμπούτο γεμάτο γεμάτο tape loops και studio tricks. Το κομμάτι αυτό μου έκαψε το μυαλό, ενα τρομακτικό κλειστοφοβικό ταξίδι μεςα στα καλώδια και τις κονσόλες. Τα λόγια περιττά, ενα απο τα αγαπημένα κομμάτια ever και απο τα αγαπημένα μου albums επίσης. Διάολε, Αυτη Η Ζέστη.

Κανενας σχολιασμος δεν χωραει εδω. Συμμαθητες στο ιδιο θρανιο μαζι με τον Καπετανιο Βοιδοκαρδο, στα 13 τους εκαναν παραγωγη σε πορνο ταινια, οποτε τι άλλο να περιμενε κανεις από δαυτους? 2 κομματια που με εβαλαν για τα καλα στον κοσμο του Zappa, και τα 2 με την φωνη του Βοιδοκαρδου να ξεσκιζει. Απιστευτο humor, απιστευτοι στιχοι, οσο για τις μπαντες? Αστο καλυτερα, απο τα καλυτερα σχηματα που εχουν ανεβει επι σκηνης ever.

Η συγκλονιστικη ηλεκτρομαγνητικη ψυχεδελικη Οδυσσεια του τεραστιου Steve Kilbey και της παρεας του. Να το πω λιανα, στα συγχρονα χρονια ποτε η ψυχεδελεια δεν βουτηξε τοσο βαθια σαν εκφραση, κι οχι σαν φορμα, ισως με εξαιρεση τους LPD, κι ισως κανα δυο αλλες μπαντες. Οτι και να πω λιγο ειναι για αυτο τον πολυεπίπεδο πανοργασμικο Latin/jazz/Rock/pop/prog ορυμαγδό, που ο Carlos και η εκλεκτή παρέα του κατέγραψαν σχεδον 45 χρονια πριν. Εδω απλά δεν μιλάμε για lifetime songs, αλλα για lifetime album (μαζι με το επόμενο "Welcome"). Κάντε μια χάρη στον εαυτό σας και ακούστε επιμελώς αυτα τα 2 albums πριν φύγετε απο τουτο τον μάταιο κοςμο. Ειναι στην λίστα με τα 10 καλυτερα μου ever εδω και παρα πολλα χρονια και δεν προβλέπεται να φύγει απο εκει πριν αποδημησω.
