Ο διάσημος Βέλγος ντέντεκτιβ Ηρακλής Πουαρό ταξιδεύει με το Οριάντ Εξπρές, αλλά εξαιτίας μιας τρομερής χιονοθύελλας, το τρένο σταματά στα μισά της διαδρομής Κωνσταντινούπολης-Παρισιού. Κατά τη διάρκεια του ταξιδιού, ο Ράτσετ, ένας από τους επιβάτες του τρένου και ήδη ύποπτος για την υπόθεση απαγωγής και δολοφονίας ενός μικρού κοριτσιού, βρίσκεται δολοφονημένος. Εγκλωβισμένοι στα χιόνια και μακριά από την αστυνομία, ο Πουαρό αναλαμβάνει να ρίξει φως στην υπόθεση. Όλοι έχουν κίνητρο, όλοι είναι ύποπτοι αλλά όλοι έχουν ένα καλό άλλοθι. Τελικά θα βρεθεί η λύση του μυστηρίου;

Agatha Christie’s novel, published in 1934, is considered one of the most ingenious stories ever devised. The novel revolves around a murder on board the famous train. Belgian detective Hercule Poirot must solve the case, but there are a number of passengers who could potentially be the murderer. In addition to directing the film, Branagh, a five-time Academy Award®-nominee, will star as detective Hercule Poirot. Depp portrays Ratchett; Pfeiffer is Mrs. Hubbard and Ridley plays Mary Debenham.

Johnny Depp and more join Murder on the Orient Express

An all-star cast, led by Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Daisy Ridley, is joining director Kenneth Branagh on 20th Century Fox‘s new feature film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s acclaimed mystery Murder on the Orient Express, it was announced today by studio president Emma Watts.

In addition to directing the film, Branagh, a five-time Academy Award-nominee, will star as detective Hercule Poirot. Depp portrays Ratchett; Pfeiffer is Mrs. Hubbard and Ridley plays Mary Debenham.

Oscar winner Judi Dench portrays Princess Dragomiroff, while Lucy Boynton is Countess Andrenyi. Tom Bateman plays Bouc, acclaimed stage actor and Tony winner Derek Jacobi portrays Masterman, Michael Peņa is Marquez, and “Hamilton” star Leslie Odom Jr. plays Doctor Arbuthnot. The ensemble is nearly complete, but there are still a few key roles left to cast.

Murder on the Orient Express begins production in November, in London.

Commented Kenneth Branagh: “Christie’s ‘Murder’ is mysterious, compelling and unsettling. I’m honoured to have this fantastic group of actors bring these dark materials to life for a new audience.”

Ridley Scott (The Martian), Simon Kinberg (The Martian, X-Men: Days of Future Past), Mark Gordon (Steve Jobs) and Branagh will produce the film. Michael Schaefer, Aditya Sood and Judy Hofflund will also produce. Michael Green (Blade Runner 2) wrote the screenplay, with Steve Asbell overseeing the production for Fox.

James Prichard and Hilary Strong, both of Agatha Christie Ltd., will executive produce.

Prichard commented: “It is always thrilling for us to see the stellar casting that Agatha Christie film adaptations attract. It is fantastic to have Kenneth Branagh at the helm of this new adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express and we are extremely excited about the cast he is bringing aboard”

Josh Gad books a ticket on the Orient Express movie

20th Century Fox‘s new Murder on the Orient Express movie is adding a new star it is ensemble. Variety reports that Josh Gad is set to play Hector MacQueen. In the book, MacQueen serves as the secretary to Mr. Ratchett (Johnny Depp’s character).

Η ταινια με τον Αλμπερτ Φινει ηταν πολύ καλή,και στο πνεύμα του βιβλίου,τωρα αξίζει πιο πολύ για τον μεγάλο αριθμό μάζωξης Χολλυγουντιανών αστερων,πολλοι εκ των οποιων δεν ζούν πλέον.
Επίσης υπάρχει η τηλεοπτικη εκδοση,με τον μοναδικο και κατά την γνώμη μου ,αξεπέραστο Ηρακλή Πουαρό,Ντειβιντ Σουσέ,τον γνωστό από την ακρως επιτυχημένη τηλεοπτικη σειρά.

Willem Dafoe joins the Murder on the Orient Express cast

According to The Hollywood Reporter, acclaimed actor Willem Dafoe (John Wick, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Spider-Man) is joining the all-star cast director Kenneth Branagh is assembling for 20th Century Fox‘s new feature film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s acclaimed mystery Murder on the Orient Express. Dafoe will play train passenger Mr. Hardman, who claims to sell typewriting ribbons but might have ties to the murder victim.

Ηλια εγω θα τη δώ,αλλωστε είναι μια κλασσικη ιστορία.Ειναι πολύ πιθανό ελαχιστο ποσοστό του σημερινου κοινού να εχει δει τις παλιές εκδοσεις οποτε γι αυτους είναι κατι καινούργιο!!!!
το Baywatch ,αν εχει καλα γκομενάκια μια χαρα θα είναι!!

φυσιογνωμικά δεν εχει τίιποτα από Ηρακλή Πουαρό.Το θρησκευτικό θεμα το αντέγραψε ο Μπράνα από την τηλεοπτική εκδοχή του Σουσέ.Εμενα παρόλο που λατρεύω την τηλεοπτικη σειρα, ,εκεινο το επεισόδιο με ειχε ενοχλήσει γιατι ειχαν διαστρέψει τον συνήθη χαρακτήρα του Πουρό,ο οποιος συνήθως ποτε δεν πολυασχολείται με το θρησκευτικό στοιχειο.
