Gary Ross (Free State of Jones, Hunger Games) will direct and produce the film, which will be a continuation of the George Clooney-led films, with Bullock playing Danny Ocean’s ex-con sister. With help from her right-hand woman (Blanchett, playing the equivalent of Brad Pitt’s Rusty), she’ll form a team of thieves to steal a necklace from the Met Ball in order to frame a villainous gallery owner.

Sarah Paulson is joining the Ocean’s 8 cast

Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story, American Crime Story) is the eighth cast member to join the Ocean’s 8 (aka “Ocean’s Ocho”) cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She joins Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina as part of the ensemble cast.

Damian Lewis set as Ocean’s Eight villain

The Ocean’s Eight villain has been revealed! Damian Lewis (Homeland, Billions) is joining the female driven action heist franchise spinoff. Lewis was reported as having been spotted on set back in October but Variety today confirms that he’ll be playing the part of the Ocean’s Eight villain.

James Corden joins Ocean’s Eight

James Corden, best known for hosting CBS‘ The Late Late Show with James Corden, has, per Deadline, joined the ensemble cast of Ocean’s Eight. What’s more, Katie Holmes has been spotted on set and appears to have a role in the film as well. Check out the new set photo below!

Ocean’s 8 cast Adds The Hobbit’s Richard Armitage

As production continues on the upcoming Ocean’s 11 spin-off film, Deadline has revealed that the Ocean’s 8 cast has added English actor Richard Armitage (The Hobbit trilogy, Into the Storm). His character is currently unknown.

First official Ocean’s 8 photo reveals the leading ladies!

Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures have revealed the first official Ocean’s 8 photo featuring one of New York City’s most iconic locales: the subway. In Summer 2018, the tide will turn as (from left to right) Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew: Lou (Cate Blanchett); Nine Ball (Rihanna); Amita (Mindy Kaling); Constance (Awkwafina); Rose (Helena Bonham Carter); Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway); and Tammy (Sarah Paulson).

Matt Damon will cameo (presumably as his character Linus Caldwell from the other three films), Damian Lewis will play the villain, James Corden will play an insurance investigator, and Dakota Fanning also has a role. Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Anna Wintour, Adriana Lima and Katie Holmes will have cameos.
