Feature Requests- APE, FLAC, and WAV lossless; WMA and AAC lossy audio support.
- Adjustable Crossover. The crossover is either an all-or-nothing 80Hz. We would like to see 40 to 120Hz crossover support.
- Audio Delay over analog. Audio Delay is currently only available over HDMI. There is concern that analog users will experience down stream video delays which will cause audio/video synchronization errors.
- Audio Bit Rate and Frequency information. Current implementation only shows Audio Track selected. Having bit rate and frequency information will help determine if we are getting lossless or lossy audio when the BDP-83 is decoding Dolby Digital TrueHD and DTS-HD Master.
- Internal Test Tones for properly calibrating analog audio outputs as well as testing proper audio output.
- User Presets. User Presets would allow for multiple changes to the player with a single selection. Saves time adjusting individual sliders to meet specific feature requirements.

No we are on a totally different firmware.
Our firmware does not have all of the glitches that some EAP users are reporting. All DVDA discs play perfectly. FLAC and WMV-HD are fully supported as well as region free playback. HD DVDs look AWESOME on the beta test units as well. Did I mention Netflix streaming and built in wi-fi?... ya, that too. Hopfully OPPO will someday give the general public the same features we have.

The AVC encode looks outstanding with razor-sharp detail, excellent contrast, and rich color palette. Depending on the locale, the cinematography changes to fit the surroundings. In Italy, the inviting countryside features deep greens and blues with relatively obscured film grain. Yet when Bond travels to Haiti, grain is more prevalent, contrast is heightened, and the color palette is more subdued. My only complaint is some minor instances of moiré in what's otherwise a nearly perfect presentation.
The DTS-HD MA 5.1 soundtrack is amazing and hits you right in the chest from the opening scene with deep, impactful LFE and a constant bombardment of discrete effects from every speaker. Dialog takes a backseat to the action in the screenplay, but it is always intelligible and easily understood, and the dynamics are first-rate in one of the best live-action tracks of the year.
