Samsung has launched the HL-T6187S, the world’s first slim DLP HDTV that combines slim depth design with advanced LED light-engine technology.
The new Samsung HDTV HL-T6187S is part of Samsung’s new series of slim rear projection DLP HDTVs, together with the Samsung HL-T5087S and the Samsung HL-T5687S.
The first thing that strikes you when you first see the Samsung HL-T6187S is its depth. With only 13.4”, the HL-T6187S has a super slim design that allows users to mount it on the wall. Goodbye to the huge old rear projection televisions!
The Samsung HL-T6187S offers 61 inches of Full HD 1080p resolution (1920x1080) to take advantage of the full potential of Blu-ray and HD DVD discs. It has an impressive contrast ratio of 10,000:1 and it features Samsung’s Cinema Smooth Gen 8 Exclusive Light Engine that creates a picture with no visible pixel structure.
Another feature worth highlighting is the fact that Samsung has removed the traditional rear projection TV UHP lamp and colour wheel, replacing them with powerful LED technology to produce smooth and stable colour. The other benefit of using LED technology is that users won’t have to replace a lamp every three years like in traditional rear projection TVs.
The Samsung HL-T6187S comes with NTS/ATSC/QAM tuners to allow users to surf the world of free HDTV signals provided by cable suppliers.
The HL-T6187S includes a special Game Mode that improves the gaming experience by producing faster response time an enhanced graphics and sound. And lets not forget that this slim DLP HDTV is 3D ready!
The inclusion of 3 HDMI inputs allows users to connect several HD sources like Blu-ray players or Xbox 360 at the same time, while the PC input included provides easy connection to a laptop or desktop PC.
Samsung has not provided prices or availability for this new series of slim LED DLP HDTVs, but unbeatable will keep an eye on them to bring you all the details in the near future.
