Το νέο IC Chip της STMicroelectronics το STi7111 SoC (system-on-chip) είναι βασισμένο στον επεξεργαστή ST40-300 CPU με 65nm technology χρονισμένο στα 450MHz και έχει ισχύ 750 DMIPS.

Υποστηρίζει HD video output μέχρι 1080p και έχει ενσωματωμένο HDMI 1.3 interface...!!!

Τρέχει LINUX και υποστηρίζει ΤΑ ΠΑΝΤΑ , όπως :

- H.264, VC1, MPEG-2, and other video standards
- includes circuitry to demodulate both DVB-S (standard) and DVB-S2 (HD)

Είναι κατανοητό λοιπόν ότι το κόστος κατασκευής των νέων δεκτών HD (και αντιστοίχων πώλησης ) ΘΑ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΧΩΜΑ...!!!
