Sherbourn's new SR-102 receiver is an impressive one. The 7.1 channel receiver is housed in a 4U high rack mountable chassis that's covered in small silver colored buttons. It's not the prettiest receiver around, but the SR-102 isn't about aesthetics though, it's all about power.
The SR-102 sports a Class A/B discrete architecture that provides 175 watts to left, right and center channels at four ohms. The surround channels get 100 at the same resistance. You can set the receiver up for 7.1 channels, or for 5.1, saving the last two outputs for a second zone.

If there's audio to be decoded, the SR-102 can probably do it. It handles DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby TrueHD, DTS Neo 6, Dolby PLIIx and a few others. It's stocked with twin Cirrus 32-bit dual core DSPs and audio features like Dolby Volume.

It's no shirk on video either – the SR-102 offers an ST-Genesis Torino scaling engine working with Vixen software and Faroujda DCDi processing. As you might assume, it can upscale to 1080p with the best of them CommentsAdd New |Search
