LG Electronics, which primarily is known for consumer electronics and mobile phones, has proclaimed first dual-format high-definition disc player that is proficient of playing both Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD content together.
As far as the Blu-ray format is concerned, it is created by Sony, together with the support of Samsung, Hitachi and JVC, whereas, the HD DVD format is produced by Toshiba with the support of Microsoft, Intel and NEC.
