Sky Italia has aquired the rights to broadcast Formula One in Italy starting from this week's Monaco Grand Prix to the end of 2009, the company announced on Monday.
The satellite broadcaster will air all Grand Prix sessions - including free practice - in 16:9 widescreen format, and on top of F1 it will also show the Porsche Super Cup and the GP2 series.
Sky customers who already subscribe to the sports package will be able to follow F1 at no extra cost.
Italy's national broadcaster RAI will carry on showing the series, as its deal with Formula One Management remains unchanged.
