AMR announces the launch of its AM-777 Pre-Main Amplifier [€2.999] whose "sonic heart beats like a seductive SET. The musical synergy is founded upon unconventional valve/bipolar devices, a dedicated transparent volume control and thorough power supply sections. The AM-777’s on-board USB DAC allows it to serve as a computer audio source. These aspects along with the fact that more than one AM-777 may be connected for bi-amp or monoblock configurations, represent the next level of evolution for the amplifier."

The circuit combines a valve-based zero feedback voltage gain stage with a bipolar output buffer for current gain. Output power is 60wpc into 8 and 4 ohms and there is an 380VA toroidal power transformer for the output stage and a 32VA EI transformer for the valve section. The remote volume control offers 71 x 1dB steps. The USB DAC reclocks the incoming signal and uses the same high-quality components as the CD-777.
