Aquavision launches new waterproof TV range, including 32in and 40in models
Aquavision is introducing five new waterproof HD Ready LCD televisions aimed at the increasingly lucrative bathroom TV market.
The Mk 1V high-performance range will consist of 17 (4:3), 19, 26, 32 and 40in widescreen sizes, and uniquely for the waterproof TV market each TV carries an RS232 control port, enabling the television to be controlled from a compatible touch panel anywhere in the home. The RS232 control port is fully compatible with most home automation control systems, including Crestron.
Also on board each model are integrated Freeview digital and analogue tuners, a component video input, S-Video input, analogue PC input, plus you get twin HDMI inputs on the 32in AVF-32-4C and 40in AVF-40-C, a single HDMI on the 17, 19, and 26in models, full scart connection and built in games.
Aquavision also claims that the image quality of its new TVs is superior to any other waterproof TV available, offering a contrast ratio of 1600:1 on the AVF-32-4C and 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution on most of the new models.
The new screens accept 1080i and 720p HD inputs, come with two remote controls (one master and one waterproof), and have heated screens so they don’t mist up in humid conditions.
Installation is claimed to be very simple, as the Aquavision sets are supplied with an easy to fit fixing frame, with a polished steel bezel, which can be mounted into the wall without the screen. All the messy work such as tiling, plastering and finishing of the wall can be done with the Aquavision LCD screen safely out of the way. Then when the messy work’s completed, you just have to fit the Aquavision screen, connect the cables, and seal the surround.
The Mk 1V range is available in three finishes: polar white, black, and Mirrorvision, whereby the TV becomes a mirror when it’s turned off.
