Στα πλαίσια της CeBit 2011 η ASUS ανακοίνωσε το πρώτο της consumer 3D Blu-Ray player.

The new ASUS O!Play BDS-700 Blu-ray player uses Qdeo video post-processing to deliver clear, vivid images in native high definition and upscaling of 480p DVD content. It supports Blu-ray 3D playback on compatible screens for immersive movie-watching experiences, delivering 7.1-channel surround sound mastered in Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. An independent audio-only HDMI port on the BDS-700 guarantees improved high definition audio performance through a dedicated channel.

Support for a wide range of video, audio, image and subtitle formats ensures the BDS-700 offers the highest degree of media compatibility available. Content can play directly from external storage devices via the included USB port, while Ethernet comes standard. High speed 802.11n Wi-Fi with DLNA support enables easy and cable-free media streaming across a network and from cloud-based content providers such as Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, Flickr and Picasa. Internet radio streaming is also available.

Support for smartphone remote control of the BDS-700 also makes access to content easier. Full compatibility with iPhone™, Android, Windows Phone 7™, Blackberry™ and Symbian devices allows users to control playback and enter text using the on-screen keyboard.

Η Asus ανακοινώνει ακόμη μια φορά το O!Play BDS-700 μαζί μα το μικρότερο BDS-500.

The BDS-500 and BDS-700 maintain complete compatibility with 45 popular formats and standards, more than any competing Blu-ray product. These formats include hi-fi sound standards such as FLAC, WAV, and AIFF. With NTFS file management, content units larger than 4GB can be easily accessed. Additionally, 2.5” external hard drives can be attached to the BDS-500 and BDS-700, with no standalone power adapter needed.

To ensure true HDMI 1.4 performance, the BDS-700 comes with dual dedicated HDMI outputs, one HDMI 1.4 port for 3D video, and another HDMI 1.3 port for audio. In addition to better performance thanks to increased and separate bandwidth for each aspect of media, the dual connection design means the BDS-700 can work effortlessly alongside existing audio receivers with no compromise in quality. Conversely, media players with only one HDMI out have to sacrifice bandwidth, routing all operations through the TV.
