The SIM 5plus integrates Barco�s unique WARP 6� geometry correction technology and an impressive range of dedicated simulation functionalities to ensure the units operate together seamlessly in a display system: Dynacolor eliminates channel-to-channel color variations, and CLO (Constant Light Output) ensures all projectors in a multi-channel system maintain the same brightness and contrast, independent of lamp life. Moreover, Proprietary Optical Soft Edge Matching allows you to achieve truly seamless blends, even in night sceneries, and Night training is even more real through the unique Extended Contrast Ratio (ECR) capability.
The native SXGA+ resolution (1400 x 1050 pixels) of Barco�s new SIM 5plus delivers the visual fidelity needed for optimal target details and training accuracy, while picture-in-picture display enlarges the capabilities for briefing and debriefing. The dual lamp system, with single or dual operation mode, allows you to choose between high brightness or redundant economy mode, in which smart switching doubles the operation time of the lamp while enhancing reliability.
The compact form factor and the wide range of on- and off-axis-capable lenses and an adjustable Scheimpflug correction makes the SIM 5plus easy to integrate in a large variety of positions and orientations without the use of special mechanical interfaces. A wide range of high-bandwidth analog and digital inputs offers versatile connection facilities, while a built-in processor and memory and a high speed network connection facilitate centralized simulator management and high speed cross-system remote control.
Through the integration of Barco�s unique WARP 6 geometry correction with bi-cubic interpolation, a subpixel-accurate geometry can be achieved on curved screens. Barco�s SIM 5plus offers the very best picture quality that can be achieved with any Non-Linear Image Mapping (NLIM) processor, preserving fine detail in the image and reducing aliasing to an absolute minimum. Thanks to the close integration of WARP 6 technology into the signal processing path, signal integrity is guaranteed, and the absence of external processing boxes reduces overall system MTBF.
