Blu-ray Comes to China
The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) has announced that eleven (11) Chinese electronics manufacturers have been approved to begin Blu-ray disc and Blu-ray player production, starting next year. The companies, which include TCL, Malata, and Desay, have all turned to Blu-ray since the fall of HD DVD in order to get in to the growing high definition market.
Since the fall of HD DVD, the BDA has increased to 187 members, while the International DVD Forum has decreased from 240 members to a current level of 163.
