Clearlight Audio Recovery Basic
The Recovery Basic as its name suggests does not overly complicate turntabledesign. Through relying on sound design principles and an innovative sandwich construction achieves high-end performance without the associated price tag.
The turntable is constructed from two MDF boards these are milled to form a helix this is then loaded with the company's award winning RDC compound.
These two sections are then placed back to back to form an irregular structure, this is the same principle that features in the design of the Super Position T, an isolation platform that is also supplied by ClearlightAudio. Sorbothan pads then separate these two shelves.
The top of these platforms features a whole, this allows the motor to sit on the bottom of the two shelves, reducing the transmission of motor noise, to reduce this further Clearlight have also encased the motor in RDC compound.
The lightweight motor is then suspended from the platter, balancing on two frontfeet. This creates a self-tensioning system. Most turntables suffer with climactic changes causing the band that drives the platter to expand orcontract, a constant tension is vital for good audio. The acrylic platteruses an inverted bearing with ceramic ball.
Clearlight Audio also intends to offer upgrades for the Basic, transforming it to their Recover II without cost penalties.
