It all begins inside Apartment 9F. This is where a single mother, Dahlia Williams, is trying to make a brand-new start in life. Attempting to escape from a bitter custody battle with her estranged husband, Dahlia moves with her daughter Ceci to a dilapidated, sprawling housing block on Roosevelt Island at the very edges of New York City. Their new home provides little refuge. The rundown tower’s creepy noises, rickety elevator and sinister dark water stains are eerie enough. But Dahlia begins to suspect there is a far greater threat. Just who or what is it that is playing mind games with Dahlia--and can she trust her own senses when her imagination is also running wild? As Ceci's ghostly encounters and an array of strange occurrences continue to build, Dahlia suddenly must question who she can trust and in what she can believe. But she will stop at nothing to figure out the riddle and protect her daughter--even as the dark water closes in around them.

Japanese director Hideo Nakata (THE RING, JU-ON) adapts another story by RING novelist Koji Suzuki for a supremely creepy tale of atmospheric horror. Yoshimi (Hitomi Kuroki) is a soon-to-be single mother going through a rather nasty divorce and struggling for custody of her adorable five-year-old daughter Ikuko (Rio Kanno). Forced to find a new job and home, Yoshimi settles for a drab concrete highrise with long, unpopulated corridors and damp, shadowy interiors that include a patch of murky water dripping through the ceiling from the apartment above. As the building's mildewy recesses take their psychological toll on Yoshimi, Ikuko keeps stumbling upon a small, red child's handbag that belonged to a little girl named Mitsuko (Mirei Oguchi), who lived in the upstairs apartment and disappeared under mysterious circumstances--and seems to be exerting her ghastly influence over the mother-daughter pair in increasingly menacing ways. Sustaining an aura of dread that would make Roman Polanski proud, DARK WATER mines metaphor-rich water images of gurgling bathtubs and ominous rooftop water towers for a thrilling horror odyssey that also works as a social commentary on the dynamics of motherhood, madness, and the modern nuclear family (ala THE SHINING or ROSEMARY'S BABY). Like THE RING, Nakata's superlative slice of J-horror was given the Hollywood treatment with a 2005 remake starring Jennifer Connelly.

Η ταινία σε γενικές γραμμές είναι καλή!
Η Jennifer Connelly παίζει πολύ καλά αλλά προσέξτε επίσης την μικρούλα που είναι απλά τρομερή!!

Μουντά χρώματα, πολύ καλή εικόνα & ήχος που φροντίζει είτε με τα εφέ του ή το soundtrack αλλά ακόμα και με την απόλυτη σιωπή να κάνει σωστά τη δουλειά του!!
Αααα.....και πολύ νερό βρε αδελφέ!!! :roll:

Αφήνει μια στυφή γεύση στο τέλος, ίσως γιατί διαφημίστηκε πολύ και μπορεί να περιμέναμε ακόμα περισσότερα!!
Αξίζει να την δείτε!!

Τελικά φταίει ο υδραυλικός ή.........
