Decware has released a new amplifier kit based on their original Zen Triode model SE84C for the serious DIY tube enthusiast. The Zen Triode SE84C-DIY Kit uses all the original Zen parts including the proprietary output and power transformers.

Included in the $299 package are the gold tube sockets, level control, standoffs, binding posts, components by Vishay, Dale, Nichicon, Sprague ATOM, Solen, and a reversible circuit board designed to work on a flat piece of wood, or upside down in a steel or aluminum chassis.
The user must supply the signal and output tubes, chassis or enclosure, screws, and a power cord. The power transformer complies with CE ratings and will work with either 120V/60 or 240V/50 power.

The single ended Class A amplifier produces 1.8 watts at 8 ohms, 2.3 watts at 4 ohms and 3.1 watts at 2 ohms in stereo operation, or 5 watts at 8 Ohms in bridged monoblock operation. It is designed for SV83 output tubes, but EL84s can be substituted. The amp biases and balances tubes automatically, so no adjustments are necessary. For the lazy, a prebuilt Zen Triode model SE84C+ sells for $675.
