The one potential compromise I dreaded in a projector at this price was compromised optics, but I don't see any obvious sign of this. The Optoma is beautifully detailed, particularly on the best HD DVD discs and, yes, on Blu-ray Discs as well. In fact, the detail on the best Blu-ray Discs on this projector (even on the compromised Samsung BD-P1000 Blu-ray player, which has a software update pending) surprised me. Hint: Experiment with the Optoma's Sharpness control (no higher than +2 or +3) and its Edge Enhancement (no more than on +1), and set the Samsung's output to 1080i. The Samsung converts the 1080p/24p content on all Blu-ray discs released to date to 1080i/30 before reconverting it to 1080p/60 for its 1080p output. The HD81's 1080i-to-1080p Gennum VXP deinterlacer is noticeably better than the HD deinterlacer in the Samsung player.

The panel has a native resolution of 1920x1080 and does NOT utilize wobulation or any pixel doubling tricks. The DMD chip is the new .95” model with DarkChip3 technology. It has the most dense fill factor of anything DLP currently offers for home theater. The optical system includes a 6x (180Hz) 7-segment (RGB, RGB, White) color wheel that will alleviate a lot of the potential for incidental rainbow effects.

OK, one more detail show from Discovery HD. 1080i was scaled to 1080p by the HD81 with crystal clarity. There were no jaggies in sight anywhere and the picture showed off incredible hair and rock detail that I attempted to capture here.

Απάντηση: HD81 Τελικά είναι 1080p ή i?

'Ο προβολέας είναι σίγουρα 1080p.
Γιατί όμως στό manual λέει ότι δέχεται σαν input o επεξεργαστής 1080i, μόνο.

Τουλάχιστον στήν βρετανική του έκδοση.
Εγώ πιστεύω ότι αφού στήν USA έκδοση λέει 1080i/p πρόκειται για τυπογραφική παράληψη.

O επεξεργαστής δεχεται 1080ι, στα 1080ρ παιζει native δεν χρειαζεται επεξεργασια φανταζομαι...
