Like the JA 500, the JA 200's power supply occupies a separate chassis, connected via an umbilical cord to the amp proper. Remove the tube cage, and the eyes feast upon a sea of GE 6550A power pentodes: ten per channel. An awesome sight, but a sobering one—think of the retubing costs. As with an exotic racing car, not only is the price tag steep, but the maintenance costs are high . . .
