KingRex UD-01 USB DAC ($190) is a high-performance desktop unit that works with both MAC or PC as an external sound card.
Built around the Burr Brown PCM 2702E DAC chip and a large internal buffer to store audio packets, the UD-01, the Burr-Brown OPA2604 low pass filter acts as the output stage preamplifier and removes residual unwanted digital artifacts. Combined with the Texas TL072 DC servo and low noise JFET OpAmps, the result is said to be a more analog sound. The unit can handle a sampling rate upwards of 16-bit/48kHz. The DC servo chip is a socket-mounted Texas Instruments TL072 for easy chip changes.
The titanium-look anodized aluminum case provides a small footprint for ease of positioning on your desktop and has USB input and a pair of gold-plated RCA jacks for output. External 100 to 240 universal voltage to DC12V/0.5A power supply is included.
