CONEXION LATINA

"Calorcito"

"Un poco loco"

CONEXION LATINA was founded in 1980 by trombone player Rudi Fuesers who discovered the fascination of salsa music on a trip to Puerto Rico. From the beginning the orchestra was formed of musicians from different Latin American countries like Venezuela, Cuba, Peru, Puerto Rico, Jamaica – an original mixture that gives the band its unique sound and made it Europe's leading salsa orchestra. CONEXION LATINA was featured on salsa festivals together with such as Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Ruben Blades, Irakere, Willie Colon and Eddie Palmieri and recorded their debut album named "Calorcito" in 1984. Among the members and guest musicians of CONEXION LATINA were Benny Bailey, Joe Gallardo, Guillermo Marchena, Nicky Marrero, Don Rader, Freddie Santiago, Hector Martignon and Bobby Stern, to name just a few. The high quality of CONEXION LATINA's music is also due to first-class arrangers from Puerto Rico, USA, Venezuela and Colombia, among them Luis Garcia, Eddie Martinez, Marty Sheller, Gil Lopez, Oscar Hernandez – and Alberto Naranjo.
