LG.Philips LCD to introduce 47-inch LED-based LCD TV panel

LG.Philips LCD is planning to roll out 47-inch LCD TV panels that feature an LED backlighting source as early as the second quarter, according to sources.

The 47-inch LED backlit TV panel will have a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and resolution of 1,920x1,080, said the sources.

The sources also indicated that after LG.Philips LCD's completes the development for the 47-inch LED TV panel, LG Electronics (LGE) will then roll out a 47-inch LED-based LCD TV.

In addition to LED panel applications, LG.Philips LCD will introduce a 52-inch full HD TV panel in April, noted the sources. The panel will feature a response time of 5ms, contrast ratio of 5,000:1, brightness of 500 nits and a color saturation of 72%, indicated the sources.

Rival Samsung Electronics announced the release of a 40-inch LCD TV with LED backlight technology in September 2006. The additional features of the TV include a 146% color gamut and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.

Η LG ειναι χαμενη αν χωρισει με την Philips στον τομεα του A/V...
Τωρα αν η Philips το διαλυσε εγω δεν ακουσα κατι....

Κι εγώ ήξερα ότι τη διέλυσαν την κοινοπραξία διότι είναι πολύ ζημιογόνος (sic). Η Philips θα προμηθεύεται πλέον πάνελ μόνο από τρίτους (βλέπε Κινέζους) κατασκευαστές και αυτό δεν ξέρω πόσο καλό είναι...
Μήπως η LG θα διατηρησει το όνομα για κάποια περίοδο;
