6moons.comMarco Manunta's M2Tech company announces the hiFace Evo USB-to-S/PDIF interface based on the hiFace but improved and housed in a brushed aluminum case (105 x 100 x 46mm) with B-type female USB connector.
It has inputs for an external 7 to 11VDC PSU; external master clock (BNC on transformer); RCA and 75-ohm BNC; AES/EBU with XLR connector and selectable consumer or pro standard via internal jumper; Toslink, ST and direct I²S outputs with 3.3V interface.
All outputs except I²S are transformer-decoupled to avoid ground noise and EMI interference. Three LEDs indicate power, data stream on input and external clock presence.
The new 384/32 Young DAC sits in a brushed aluminum case measuring 200 x 50 x 200mm. It includes input sampling frequencies of 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, 192, 352.8* and 384kHz* (* USB only); up to 32-bit resolution on USB, 24 bits on all other inputs; USB B-type female, S/PDIF (RCA and 75-ohm BNC), AES/EBU XLR and Toslink inputs; single-ended RCA outputs; and an external 9 - 24VDC power supply.
The new 384/32 Vaughan DAC occupies a 440 x 80 x 440mm enclosure with the same sampling frequencies as the Young, albeit applicable to all inputs at the highest rates.
It then expands inputs to USB B-type female; 2 x RCA and 75-ohm BNC each; dual AES, Toslink and ST for 384kHz respectively; straight I²S and an external master clock link. Outputs are RCA and XLR plus 6.3mm headphone. The power supply is a 115/230VA unit with an optional high-current Lithium battery with battery changer. The Vaughan is M2Tech's reference DAC and sports eight converter chips, four per channel in mono mode. A digital dithered volume control allows amp-direct connection and the headphone output runs a discrete-parts amplifier.
