Ως γνωστόν, ένα Xbox 360 εκτός απο παιχνιδομηχανή μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί και σαν "extender" για να βλέπουμε ότι παίζει ένα MCE2005 HTPC, με έλεγχο μέσω απλού remote και έξοδο 720p/1080i στη τηλεόραση (ένα MCE2005 HTPC μπορεί να τροφοδοτεί τρείς ανεξάρτητους extenders τουλάχιστον) χωρίς πολλά μπλεξίματα με κάρτες γραφικών, drivers κλπ - όσο για HD streaming:

...I muxed a DVD from multiple VOBs into one single VOB, renamed it to .mpg and streamed it to my 360. The 360 upconvert it to 1080i for my TV.
When playing a DVD in the 360 itself it is 480p and there is no upconversion.
...The Xbox 360 plays .ts and .tp files just fine. Ιt will not let you ff or rw when playing back the files. It will however let you do 30 second skips.
In order to get .ts files to play in MCE/WMP and the 360 you can either rename the files to .mpg or install HDTVPump (http://www.dvbportal.de/projects/hdtvpump/). HDTVPump is basically a plugin that allows the playback of .ts files through WMP which then trickles down to the 360. With HDTVPump you no longer have to rename your .ts files to .mpgs.

...Last week I played Terminator 2 WMV-HD (Extreme DVD) on Xbox 360 through Wireless connection. I copied 4 WMV files from Extreme DVD on my PC then obtained license through Interactual player (actually you can bypass Interactual player by executing dvdrun.exe and obtaining license through Windows Media Player).
Then I just played these files on Xbox 360 just like any other video file. I watched it for 30 minutes so far, there was some stuttering for first 10 seconds or so but after that it was all smooth playback. I was getting 5.1 channel surround sound through Xbox, now I don't miss nForce 2 Soundstorm setup that much.
...I've tried T2 and step into Liquid on my 360 streaming from my MCE PC. It works great and no stuttering whatsoever.
