Οπως γράφει το newsletter Νοεμβρίου του mpcclub,μέσα στο 2ο 15νθήμερο του Νοεμβρίου θα κυκλοφορήσει το νέο μοντέλο Mede8er MED400X MINI με τιμή κάτω από 100 ευρώ.Πρόκειται προφανώς για ανταγωνιστή του WD TV.
The MED400X MINI will offer noiseless operation (no fan), 10/100 LAN for network streaming, HDMI 1.3, Composite, optical audio out and a USB 2.0 host port in the rear. Another USB port will be located on the left hand side of the unit along with a card reader. The front will host a TV SYS button (switch outputs) and an on/off switch and all that will fit in the palm of your hand. The recent update to include cover art and movie info only makes things better and more appealing.
Customers already owning a Mede8er will have a field day operating the unit as the firmware is exactly the same,only the foot print of player and remote have become smaller.The special features that made the Mede8er accepted by the crowd in general include the movie watch indicator allowing one to mark an episode or movie as seen., or it is marked automatically after xx time of time elapsed.
Other features to find in the Mede8er, not unique but well implemented include play lists on the fly, locked folder, pagination by entering numbers on the remote, and so much more. The most recent wow factor however was the recent addition of the movie wall to catalog your movies that show up as a thumbnail page on screen for selection to get rid of boring lists. Admittedly, the system is not perfect and pretty much static in presentation allowing horizontal scrolling only, but it beats the dull list view.
Considering the Mede8er MED400X MINI has no internal drive and is mainly a streaming unit with the ability to attach external drives over USB
Important to know is that both USB hosts are fitted close together and can be used to power external hard drives 2.5 without power supply.
