Mitsubishi Introduces 2 Blu-ray Recorders
Mitsubishi Electronics has announced that they will release two Blu-ray recorders, the DVR-BZ100 and DVR-BZ200, on May 24th in Japan. The BZ100 will feature a 250GB hard drive, while the BZ200 gets the beefier 500GB hard drive. Both players utilizes an AVC encoder which allows them to store 1080p high definition video on either a Blu-ray disc, DVD, or the local hard drive.
The players also feature "REALINK" which allows them to connect seamlessly to REAL brand LCD HDTVs. Additionally, the players come with two remotes: a standard and a Gutto touch-screen. The standard remote has to be used to program the touch-screen remote, but once it is programed, the standard remote is no longer needed for operation.
Both players come equipped with HDMI in and out ports that are compatible with 24p content, and feature many video and audio connection options. They also have an SD card slot (for storage of video content only) and an ISDB tuner for capturing broadcast television (in Japan only). There is no manufacturers retail price at this time.
