Panasonic has announced in Las Vegas that it's going to introduce Blu-ray discs with a 4x writing speed across the world from the summer. Which is handy, really, as that coincides with the launch of the company's 4x BD drive launch!
The extra speed has been achieved thanks to a new phase-change recording layer, which makes it possible to copy a 1GB folder in just one minute.
