Starting in October 2005, Sharp Corporation will introduce into the Japanese market two new full-spec high-definition AQUOS, the 57V-inch LC-57GE2 and 37V-inch LC-37GE2. Only LCD TVs can display full-spec high definition in these sizes.

With over 50% of Japanese homes now having the capability to enjoy terrestrial digital broadcasts, the age of digital high-definition TV is about to go into full swing. Having seen this coming, in August 2004 Sharp introduced the 45V-inch AQUOS, the industry’s first TV to use a full-spec high-definition panel and manufactured at Sharp’s state-of-the-art Kameyama Plant No. 1. This was followed by a second full-spec high-definition 45V-inch AQUOS in June 2005 and the 65V-inch full-spec high-definition AQUOS—the world’s largest*2 LCD TV—in August 2005.

With the introduction of these two new models, Sharp now has five full-spec high-definition AQUOS, the largest line of full-spec LCD HDTV available today*3. These TVs, capable of displaying digital high-definition broadcasts in their full splendor, range from the 37V-inch, a size only possible in LCD, to the 65V-inch, the world’s largest LCD TV. Not only can consumers choose a full-spec high-definition AQUOS that suits their room size, layout and TV-viewing style, they can enjoy incredibly high-resolution images of everything from the subtle beauty of nature to the power of an emotional movie scene.

Sharp will continue to meet the needs of a new era of digital high definition with an expanding full-spec high-definition AQUOS lineup that takes advantage of LCD’s ability to display superbly detailed, high-quality images.
