Sharp Corporation announces the introduction into the Japanese market of the LC-37GE2 AQUOS 37V-Inch* Full-Spec High-Definition LCD TV featuring a full-spec high-definition LCD panel with resolution of 1,920 H x 1,080 V pixels. This new LCD panel brings out all the stunning image quality and detail of digital HDTV broadcasts.
The newly developed 37V-inch full-spec high-definition LCD panel features a high contrast ratio (1200:1) with increased tonality for black hues, and is capable of reproducing velvety blacks in darkened rooms and sharp, clear pictures in bright rooms. In addition, a response rate of 6 msec enables the LC-37GE2 to reproduce sharp, crisp images even of high-speed full-motion video. And, a wide viewing angle of 176° side-to-side and top-to-bottom reduces “white washout” and color changes on the screen even when viewed from a skewed angle. Users will experience impressively beautiful, high-quality images.
In addition, a newly developed Four-Wavelength Backlight that faithfully reproduces pure red by adding “crimson” to the conventional blue, green and red primary colors, allows the LCD panel to beautifully render rich, true-to-life reds, such as the ruby red of an aged wine.
Also, Sharp’s high-aperture speaker system and highly rated 1-Bit digital amplifier deliver clear, natural, high-resolution sound. And the LCD-37GE2 also offers an abundance of input/output jacks, including an HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) input jack and DVI (Digital Visual Interface) input jack, allowing users to enjoy digital video by connecting a DVD player or other audio/video equipment. Further, this LCD-based model is designed with full attention to environmental considerations, including low power consumption and the use of materials optimized for recycling. The evolved LCD panel technologies and imaging technologies brought together in this model enable Sharp to offer the LC-37GE2 as the flat-panel TV of the future far surpassing other video systems in picture quality, color reproduction, environmental performance and design.
