Sharp is claiming that Samsung has infringed five of its LCD TV-related patents. In a lawsuit filed in Texas, the Japanese LCD leader is claiming compensatory damages and the prohibition of all infringing products. Sharp says that it has been attempting to resolve the issue privately with Samsung since 2006. All the patents (numbered 4,649,383, 5,760,855, 6,052,162, 7,027,024 and 7,057,689) concern the production of LCD modules.
