Sony Announces "Mastered in 4K" Blu-ray Titles

To compliment the electronics industry's launch of 4K Ultra HD Televisions, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that it will begin releasing a new line of "Mastered in 4K" Blu-ray titles. Sourced from pristine 4K masters and presented at high-bitrate 1080p resolution, the first wave of more than 10 titles will arrive on the market in Spring 2013.

Some of the first films to enter the "Mastered in 4K" series are The Amazing Spider-Man, Total Recall (2012), The Karate Kid, Battle: Los Angeles and The Other Guys. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment also plans to utilize available high quality 4K masters for select upcoming new release Blu-ray titles.

The "Mastered in 4K" Blu-ray titles will be playable on all existing Blu-ray players, including the PS3.

Είναι απλό, τα films τα σκανάρουν ήδη σε 4Κ, άρα το αρχικό ψηφιακό υλικό είναι 4Κ(όποιος δεν σκανάρει σε 4Κ είναι ηλίθιος)
Όσοι τραβάνε ταινίες ψηφιακά το κάνουν σε 4Κ(όσοι δεν τραβάνε σε 4Κ είναι ηλίθιοι)

Η Sony υποστηρίζει ότι το mastering θα γίνεται στο υλικό 4Κ και μετά θα κάνουν το downscale σε 1080.
Η Sony σκέφτηκε να προσθέσει το 4Κ, που είναι της μόδας, για να κάνει εντύπωση.
