Και ναι τελικά η 42άρα κάνει 1:1 pixel maping στα 1080p μέσω PC!

Y.Γ. Μην ξεχνάμε ότι μετά τους Γερμανούς είμαστε το πρώτο φόρουμ στην Ευρώπη που την ανακάλυψε, την τέσταρε και οργάνωσε power-buy για την ΑΜΟΙ!!!!

Right... Another 42" amoi user.... I picked mine up today and have quickly hooked it up. No 1080p review yet but I can review the rest.... I am ultimately comparing this to the SAMSUNG LE26R51 since this is the only other model I own and have detailed knowledge of. Also, it is a proven model that has received exceptional reviews.

First of all, the build quality of the amoi isn't as bad as I expected. The unit is solidly built and doesn't look bad at all. It isn't as eye catching as my samsung but it does have a similar feel to the Toshiba in terms of design. You get the standard european kettle lead and adapter but I opted to use a spare UK kettle lead instead.

Out of the box, the colour configuration and brightness isn't too bad although some tweaking is necessary to get the optimal output. The greating page is a bright blue background with the words amoi in the center which allows you to have the first scan for any dead pixels. None so far! Start up time is comparable to the other LCD's - a slight delay before it switches on but this is to be expected on such a large set.

Composite video for Digital SD source was quite acceptable. No worse than the samsung and at times better which I was quite suprised by especially since this is a much larger screen and also has the higher resolution panel. You would expect it to perform slightly worse but I can assure you this was not the case. I was expecting this to be the worst part of the TV but I am pleasantly surprised to find that it performs just as well as the bigger brand names. Some grainy flashes are all that you have to put up with on slow moving images. The problem is with fast moving images - artefacts are massively noticeable. Some channels on freeview however were horrific and I was not able to watch them because the picture quality was just too poor. Also there was excessive artifacts on text whilst the upscaler kicks in.

Next I hooked up my DVD player, via scart and composite. No matter what configuration, the output was very similar. RGB on EXT 1 was actually the worst of all which made me scratch my head. The DVD I chose was eXistenZ since it is quite a colourful movie but also has its fair share of dark scenes. The upscaling was excellent and I was hard pushed to see any real artifacts. I would be suprised if an upscaler DVD player over HDMI could do any better. Blacks were impressive and definitely not a downside to this TV...

720p over VGA was excellent. The colours were crisp and the response time left a clear image without ghosting or blurring. The few demos I was able to view left me suitably impressed and it was at this stage I realised I had definitely made the right decision purchasing the amoi instead of the Toshiba 1080i or waiting for the overpriced Sony.

PRO's... Sublime HD display. Clear, crisp colours and easy to use menu system. Nice blacks. The inbuilt speakers gave a rich sound that you would expect on a much more expensive model. Impressive Upscaling for standard DVD movies. The panel is superb and out of the box it displays better than the standard rack of LCD's and Plasmas on show at your local currys...

CON's... Not as flashy as its more expensive counterparts, no SD card slot on the standard model either. Only one HDMI input. VGA could not display 1080i or 1080p images. 720p was the best I could get. Vertical and Horizontal alignment options were let down by the lack of a stretch/collapse option which meant at some resolutions part of the screen was cut. Full screen stretches 4:3 more at the edges to give the center picture more realistic view but the upshot of that is a much more deformed image off center shot. This was only on the full screen for 4:3 - all other display options appeared fine. This may be considered a bonus for some people, I just didn't like it.
The remote is quite tacky and light and the stand looks cheap.

OVERALL... At the moment I can honestly say this is a good panel irrespective of its 1:1 pixel mapping at 1080p input capabilities (which I have yet to experience). Even without those things this is still a good quality panel. I can't wait to try these out and see how it compares to 720p (which was very impressive I'd give it 7/10 at the moment.... without seeing the 1080p.

NLS σαν απλός χρήστης του Forum πρέπει να σου πω οτι η συμπεριφορά σου με έχει κουράσει αλλά και ενοχλήσει απλά και μόνο παρακολουθώντας τα posts σου. :?

Είσαι ο πρώτος που θα την πεί σε κάποιον αν δε χρησιμοποιεί Ελληνικά, αν ρωτήσει κάτι που έχει ήδη συζητηθεί στο παρελθόν και δεν έκανε search να το βρεί ή αν ανοίξει απ΄οτι φαίνεται περιττά κατά την άποψη σου threads. Συν του οτι το ύφος σου σε τέτοιου είδους παρατηρήσεις είναι κατά την άποψη μου ειρωνικό και προκλητικό. Το οικογενειακό κλίμα του forum νομίζω πως δεν είναι βασισμένο σε τέτοιου είδους πρακτικές που είναι πιο συνηθισμένες σε άλλα φόρα. Το φιλικό κλίμα είναι αυτό που μας κάνει να ξεχωρίζουμε
