Ψηφιοποιεί σε μορφή streaming την μουσική και τη εκπέμπει σε τοπικά δίκτυα, internet κλπ σε πραγματικό χρόνο...!!!
Λειτουργεί ώς Internet radio χωρίς χρήση PC, μόνιμα On-line ακούγοντας χιλιάδες σταθμούς.
Διαθέτει ασύρματη WiFi 802.11g και 10/100 Mbit Ethernet.
Δεν είναι μόνο όμως ενας απλός media encoder και internet radio, αλλά διαθέτει και ποιοτικά χαρακτηριστικά όπως :

Απευθειας σύνδεση σε Hi-End τελικούς (όπως ισχυρίζεται το site του Stereophile...)
Ειναι πολύ όμορφο κατασκευαστικά... αλλά θέλει και 2000 $ για να το αποκτήσεις...
σου δίνουν δώρο βέβαια και το Squeezebox, ενα Ιντερνετ ασύρματο - ενσύρματο radio για να το χρησιμοποιείς με το Transporter.
