1. Η ROCK παρουσίασε την πρώτη τηλεόραση με ενσωματωμένο υπολογιστή!

The black and stylish display named “meivo” comes with plenty of good features such as being HD ready and having internet TV support. It also is Windows Vista enabled, but I don’t know if that can be considered a good feature taking in consideration what happened a few days ago.

The technical specifications on the Meivo (price tag £1000 excluding VAT) can be impressive if you are not used to good computers:

2. TecnoVision Luxio
205'' Η μεγαλύτερη τηλεόραση στον κόσμο!!!

In these tech events there is always one smart company that tries to grab the attention of all the people by making stupid claims about their products such as “world’s largest TV”. Well, that is the case with TecnoVision and their Luxio TV.
Unlike 80% of the TVs in the whole world, the Luxio doesn’t use Plasma, LCD, or any other high-tech thing - it actually has plenty of LEDs that when put together display the images and make it look like a real television.
Numbers of the world’s largest TV?
  • 205 inches
  • 750,000 LEDs
  • €350,000

3. Η μεγαλύτερη και η μικρότερη 1080p τηλεόραση από την SHARP

108''

32''

The company which sticks its nose into virtually everything has done what many cinephiles have been crying out for: shrink down Full HD. The result is a pair of 32 inchers called the LC-32GS20 and LC-32GS10 (above). Both have native 1920 x 1080 resolutions, 2000:1 contrast ratios, 460 cd/m2 brightness and 176 degree viewing angles.

Two HDMI ports also come as standard along with a single iLink port while the difference between the models is a little unusual: the 32GS20 has side speakers and the 32GS10 has a bottom mounted one.

4. Νέες 1080p τηλεοράσεις από την SHARP με σκληρό δίσκο και 100 Hz

Continuing the 1080p theme, Sharp also demoed the 46in and 52in HD-1 series, a line which integrates a 160GB 2.5in hard drive and dual tuners for time shifting and scheduled recording. Specs elsewhere weren't too shabby either with a 3000:1 contrast ratio, 4ms response time and 100Hz refresh rate.

5. Νέα σειρά τηλεοράσεων από την Samsung

Samsung has announced a range of new televisions in London on the eve of CeBIT in Germany.

The company announced the launch of a new range of 1080p LCD televisions, codenamed Tulip and as well as new Plasma models as well codenamed Carla, Lily and Saffron.

The Tulip LCD range will build on the company's popular Bordeaux range that, according to the consumer electronics giant, was its most popular television offering in 2006.

Coming in four sizes; 37, 40, 46, 52 the new televisions will cost £1200, £1300, £2000 and £2500 respectively and be available in April in the UK.

The new models will, like the Bordeaux models before it, be feature packed including three HDMI slots, two on the back and one on the side to appease HD junkies keen to connect DVD players, Sky HD and games consoles like the PS3.

Other features include Samsung's MoviePlus technology on the three bigger screens and a 9-in-1 memory card reader. The 32 and 37-inch models will offer a dynamic contrast ratio of 8000:1 while the 40, 46 and 52-inch models will offer a dynamic contrast ratio of 15,000:1.

The company has also announced the launch of a new range of Plasma televisions called the Q range. The new models will come in either a 46 or 50-inch models and offer 3 HDMI sockets, the MoviePlus technology and a 15,000:1 contrast ratio.

Finally on the TV front, the company has launched a range of LCD televisions that aren’t Full HD supportive. The range will come in sizes of 23, 26, 32, 37, and 40-inch variants with the promise of a £400 19-inch model due later this year. The R87 range as it will be known will also be available in white, to fit in with your bedroom décor according to Samsung.

6. Sanyo 42LM4WPR-E waterproof TV

As we wandered the showfloor at CeBIT this year, we noticed that things which can operate in water are all the rage.

While we don't really care if a cash register is waterproof, we are very, very excited by a television that works during a spot of rain.

Yes, that's right, the Sanyo 42LM4WPR-E really is a television that's impervious to the electronic-destroying properties of water. And it's HD-ready.

7. Sharp ultra-definition 4,000 x 2,000 pixels

Are you one of those people who's never happy? If so, Sharp has the high-definition TV for you.

It's only at the prototype phase at the moment, but it's a 64-inch screen with a resolution of about 4,000 x 2,000 pixels, which basically gives it a resolution of 8.8 megapixels.

We feel it's important to point out that a 1080p television has a resolution of just 2 megapixels, so it's fair to say this kicks HD up the bottom and then makes an insulting comment about its mother.

As you can probably tell, we were incredibly impressed by the quality of the picture on this panel. It's hard to describe how much detail there was and. while 1080p is far from shabby, this screen really does prove there's a lot of scope for increasing the resolution of video.

Sharp hasn't decided when or whether to commercialize it yet, but we can only hope it will be available in time to see the next high-definition disc format war rise out of the ashes of the Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD scuffle.

9. Samsung Q9HD plasma TVs

Despite LCDs outselling plasmas by quite a wide margin, Samsung remains committed to its plasma TV range. This year it's launching two new large-screen sets--the 42Q9HD and the 50Q9HD--and they come, predictably enough, in 42- and 50-inch sizes.

Neither of the plasma screens support 1080p, which is a little disappointing. The 42-inch model has a resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels and the 50-inch adds a few pixels, going up to 1,365 x 768. Both screens have an impressive quoted contrast ratio of 15,000:1 and equally noteworthy brightness figures of 1,500cd/m2 for the 42-inch and 1,300cd/m2 for the 50-inch screen.

The usual range of connections adorn various parts of the screens. There are a couple of SCART sockets, component-video and PC connections on the back for hooking up pretty much anything you can throw at them. There are also side composite and S-video inputs, for easy connection of a camcorder without ferreting around behind the TV.

Both screens have three generous HDMI sockets, two of which are mounted on the back and one at the side. Well done, Samsung--you win our special award for having a sensible number of HDMI sockets. The prize is a warm handshake, which you can redeem at a time of your choosing.

10. TOSHIBA Regza

As we hurtle toward CeBIT 2007, Europe's biggest tech trade show, we're starting to get excited about what we might see there. No doubt there will be huge televisions and, fingers crossed, some exciting new technology.

To feed our hunger, Toshiba has dropped us a tasty morsel of information on its upcoming Regza C series, which we guess will replace its successful WLT66 models. The new models will be in four sizes: 26, 32, 37 and 42 inches. All of them are 720p screens, with 1,366 x 768-pixel resolutions, which is fine, but we would have liked 1080p on the 37- and 42-inch panels.

The screens' most significant boast is greatly improved contrast ratios, most impressive of which is the 37-inch which features a whopping 5,000:1 ratio. The 42- and 32-inch displays both have a 4,000:1 ratio and the 26-inch offers a slightly lower 3,500:1. By contrast the 32WLT66 offers a comparatively bland 1,200:1.

Our general excitement has been somewhat tempered by news that the panels will have only two HDMI inputs. We can easily fill two up with our high-definition TV service and our HD-DVD player. What happens when the PlayStation 3 reaches critical mass? We'll have to crawl around behind the TV and do some unplugging and stuff. Very disappointing, indeed.

Back in the land of the positive, the TVs all have built-in digital tuner, WXGA support for your PC, SRS WOW for making your eardrums tingle with happiness, and the usual range of picture enhancements and noise-reduction wizardry.

We've been impressed with the performance of previous Regzas, so we'll be waiting with bated breath for these to arrive.

Θα γινόταν και αυτό αλλά αν δεν υπάρχει το υλικό να υποστηρίξει τέτοια ανάλυση, το 1080p είναι αρκετό...
