Χριστούγεννα του 2015 θα κάνουμε με 4Κ 'movies and players'

''4K Blu-ray is officially on the way. According to Victor Matsuda, Chairman of the Blu-ray Disc Association Global Promotions Committee, the BDA expects the specs for 4K Blu-ray to be finalized in the first half of 2015, paving the way for commercial availability by the end of the year. This means we can expect to see actual 4K Blu-ray movies and players available in stores by Christmas next year.

Apart from the jump to 4K resolution (3840 × 2160p) we can also expect 4K Blu-ray to support higher frame rates (up to 60fps), an expanded color gamut along with high dynamic range (HDR), as well as HEVC/H.265 encoding to compress 4K movies more efficiently and allow for higher bit rates. The group is currently exploring the possibility of increasing the disc capacity to 66GB or 100GB.

The news was confirmed by representatives on the show floor at IFA 2014 in Berlin, which opened its doors to visitors today''

αυτα τα πανελς θελουν φακο 1.25x που στοιχιζει πανω απο 15000e

Εμείς έχουμε και θέλουμε 1.7777777777777777777:1 άσχετα απο οθόνη.
Τον 1.25:1 τον χρησιμοποιείς όταν θέλεις να συμπιέσεις 1.9:1 εικόνα, σωστά;

Μα η ταινία θα είναι ή 1.78:1 ή 1.85:1 ή 2.35/9:1 στο BD όπως και τώρα.

Φυσικά. Το widescreen cinema είναι 1.85:1 (γι' αυτό και το panel των Sony), το 1.77777:1 δημιουργήθηκε σαν συμβιβασμός.
Εμείς βλέπουμε το 1.85:1 με μικρές μπάρες και αν χρησιμοποιούμε 1.7777:1, έτσι θα συνεχίσουμε.
Αν τώρα είχαμε 1.9:1 οθόνη, θα βλέπαμε σωστά το 1.85:1 ενώ στα 1.7777:1 θα είχαμε πλάγιες μπάρες.
Όλα αδιάφορα εκτός αν έχεις 2.35/9:1 οθόνη, στις 1.7777:1 κάνεις overscan και τελειώνεις.
Σε 'μάς έχει παιχνίδι, πιθανόν ενδιαφέρον με 1.33 φακό.

4k Blu-rays - Xmas 2015

''The Blu-ray Disc Association announced at IFA that the Blu-ray 4k spec will be ready by summer 2015 with products hitting the stores in time for the holiday buying season the same year (basically not this Christmas but next). Some of the things you can look forward to with 4k Blu-ray discs and players:

• Four-times the number of pixels
• Native 60 frames per second playback
• Improved color gamut (REC 2020 - includes 70-80% of visual color spectrum)
• Higher dynamic range (increased to 10 bit depth from 8 bit)
• Higher capacity Blu-ray discs (up to 100gb from the 50gb we have now)
• Move from H.264/AVC (Advanced Video Coding) compression technology to H.265/HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding)
• Updated DRM

The technical improvements over Blu-ray (much less DVD) are not debatable. The new 4k spec is superior to existing technology in almost every way. The problem will be adoption. Here are the barriers as we see them....''
