If you fancy buying a limited edition speaker from B&W and happen to have 11 grand burning a hole in your pocket, then the Signature Diamond could be right up your street.
So what makes this speaker so expensive? Well, aside from the fact that only 1,000 individually numbered speaker sets are going to be made, it also features a tweeter pod carved from Italian Grigio Carmica or Belgian Black marble. The tweeter inside the marble 'pod', meanwhile, is a pure Diamond Dome Nautilus tube-loaded 25mm affair, which uses diamond crystals to strengthen the tweeter dome to produce a cleaner, purer sound.
As for the mid-range/bass driver, it's a 180mm effort featuring an innovative new noiseless phase-plug, while the silver/gold crossover components benefit from the unusually wide linear bandwidth of the drivers. Finally there's the extravagant oval-shaped floorstanding design, developed over the course of four years by industrial design guru Kenneth Grange CBE.
