Auzentech Reveals HDMI 1.3-native PCI Express Audio Combo Card

Santa Clara, CA – June 16, 2008: Auzentech, Inc. (www.auzentech.com) reveals today its non-downsampling, HDMI 1.3-native, PCI express audio combo card: Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater 7.1. The Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater 7.1 accepts video from either an internal or external connection, mixes it with digital audio, and outputs the combined video and lossless multichannel audio via a single HDMI™ 1.3 port. Moreover, the internal connection will exclusively support upcoming NVIDIA products, to create the ultimate in audio and visual entertainment.
The latest in a long line of breakthrough soundcards from Auzentech, the Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater 7.1 outputs a bitstream of high-definition, multichannel audio from Blu-ray or HD movies with no downsampling, to take full advantage of lossless digital audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.
The Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater 7.1 has been designed around the latest Creative PCI Express X-Fi audio processor. Πέρασε ένας ολόκληρος χρόνος από την πρώτη ανακοίνωση της Auzentech X-Fi Home Theater HD, αυτή τη φορά η εταιρία λέει ότι η κάρτα θα είναι διαθέσιμη για τεστ στα μέσα Ιουλίου και στην αγορά στα τέλη του ίδιου μήνα.
Όλο αυτό το διάστημα η ASUS είχε το μονοπώλιο στην αγορά, περιμένω με αγωνία τα πρώτα τεστ και την τιμή της νέας κάρτας ελπίζοντας ότι ο ανταγωνισμός θα κατεβάσει τις τιμές.

Τελικά ο Onkyo δεν ήθελε να δουλέψει σωστά, ήδη ο Μάκης τον έστειλε στην αντιπροσωπεία για έλεγχο.

Η Auzentech με επίσημη ανακοίνωση ενημερώνει για προβλήματα ασυμβατότητας με ενισχυτές Denon που έχουν κατασκευαστεί το 2007 και πριν.

An Open Letter Regarding Older-Model Denon AV Receivers

Dear Valued Customers:

Support tickets placed by our customers indicate that Denon AV Receivers manufactured before 2008 may produce static during playback when receiving digital passthrough via SPDIF from the Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD sound card.

Based on these support tickets, you will not experience this problem if you own a newer Denon receiver or a different brand of receiver.Our newer-model Denon receivers which we use for testing do not exhibit these problems, for example.

Although the problem seems to be confined to AV receivers manufactured by Denon in 2007 or earlier, we are not suggesting that the receiver is at fault. Instead, we expect that there is a compatiblity issue that has resulted from changing specifications.

If you have an older model Denon AV Receiver and are experiencing this problem, all of us at Auzentech sincerely regret the inconvenience. We intend to have a solution as quickly as possible, and will post more Open Letters to keep you informed.

We are taking the following steps to address the issue:

1. Auzentech is opening a line of communication with Denon regarding the issue.
2. Auzentech is attempting to acquire an older-model Denon receiver for testing.

If you own a different AV Receiver, you may be interested in the list of the AV Receivers on which we conduct most of our internal testing (below). The list provides a good sample of current AV Receiver technology:

Auzentech Solves Static Issue on Older-Model Denon AV Receivers; Offers Firmware Updates

Dear Auzentech Customers:

Auzentech (www.auzentech.com) is pleased to announced that it has found a solution to problems of audio static when the Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD is connected to older-model Denon AV Receivers. A firmware update to the X-Fi HomeTheater HD Sound Card has been created to correct the problem.

Background

As first reported in a September 4 Open Letter from Auzentech, Denon AV Receivers manufactured in early 2008 or before may produce static during playback of high definition bitstream audio with the Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD sound card. Although Denon did not respond to Auzentech's attempts to communicate about the problem, we located and purchased some earlier Denon receivers for analysis, and were successful in diagnosing the trouble.

Problem

Auzentech engineers found that earlier Denon receivers read HDMI audio sources differently than do newer models, or other receivers on the market. We do not know why the older units were designed to perform differently. However, you should not experience this problem if you own a more recently manufactured Denon receiver or a different brand of receiver.

Solution

To adapt the Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD to the unique HDMI implementation on Denon's older receivers, Auzentech will apply an X-Fi HomeTheater HD firmware update for anyone affected by the problem. The update will be performed by Auzentech or an authorized Auzentech dealer or technician. If you are an owner of the Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD and an older model receiver exhibiting audio static during high definition bitstream audio, please email Auzentech at the address listed below. We will provide guidance on how to update your product.

Terms

This firmware update offer includes shipping to and from Auzentech or its representatives. After December 31, 2009, the firmware update will still be available but will be governed by the terms of the warranty, which do not include free shipping. Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD sound cards shipped directly to customers from the Auzentech online store after October 19, 2009 will already have the firmware update applied. Models purchased in retail stores may have the original firmware, but are eligible for the update.
