Δοκιμή του Mede8er MED500X2

Από την Τετάρτη το απόγευμα έχω στην κατοχή μου το νέο media player Mede8er MED500X2.Η τιμή αγοράς του είναι 180 ευρώ από την ελληνική αντιπροσωπεία Twin Digital.

Το καταπληκτικό med500X2 το αγόρασα ως δώρο για τον εαυτό μου,οπότε θα έχουμε άπλετο χρόνο να το δούμε αναλυτικά,να τα πούμε όλα και να τα δείξουμε όλα!

Ας δούμε πρώτα τα τεχνικά χαρακτηριστικά του player πριν ξεκινήσουμε την αναλυτική παρουσίαση:

Η συσκευασία του είναι πιο λυτή αυτή τη φορά,δηλ. δεν έρχεται με όλα τα καλούδια που είχε η συσκευασία του Med500X
Δεν έχει τσάντα μεταφοράς,καλώδιο component καθώς και καλώδιο επέκτασης usb.
Περιέχει το Med500x2 φυσικά:105: remote control,μπαταρίες,καλώδιο hdmi,καλώδιο usb 3 για σύνδεση του player με τον υπολογιστή,composite & rca,καθώς και ac adapter.

Εκτός από το quick manual έχει και ένα πολύ αναλυτικό βιβλιαράκι στα αγγλικά,πλούσιο σε φωτογραφίες που αναλύει όλες τις ρυθμίσεις που πρέπει να γίνουν στον player,αλλά και όλες τις δυνατότητες του!
Ειλικρινά με εντυπωσίασε αυτό,είναι γραμμένο σε απλά αγγλικά και νομίζω με τη βοήθεια του και ο πλέον άπειρος ιδιοκτήτης του θα μπορέσει να το σετάρει και να φέρει στα μέτρα του εύκολα το μηχάνημα!
Σε όσα media players έχουν περάσει από τα χέρια μου,δεν έχω ξαναδεί τόσο αναλυτικό,απλό και επεξηγηματικό manual!
Αξίζουν συγχαρητήρια στους κατακευαστές του Mede8er για την προσθήκη του στην συσκευασία!:615:

Το μηχανάκι ήρθε με το firmware 1.0.1 που μου είχε προεγκαταστήσει ο αγαπητός Αποστόλης (aka Oppostolis:126 αλλά το ίδιο βράδυ βγήκε νέο firmware το 1.0.2 που έχω αυτή τη στιγμή εγκατεστημένο στο μηχανάκι.
Ας δούμε τις αλλαγές στα firmware:

1. PGA Subtitles not working on m2ts files - Fixed
2. Crash when manually setting or unsetting the watched indicator when you are on page2 or higher in 'List View' or 'Preview View' - Fixed

4. Watched indicator does not show after you watched the video. Need to exit and return to see the watched status.- Fixed

The SDK can only mount one root path from Samba or NFS so the picture and the music folder must be in the same root folder and must on same PC.

Εδώ μερικά bugs που έχουν εντοπισθεί στην v 1.0.2:


1) Initial Setup

Using Emergency Install, or Restore Default, will bring up the Initial Setup Screen.
When setting up time during initial setup, please press Ret to exit Manual Time, and move down to Time Zone, and Summer Time. Then go back and check that Manual Time is correct.
Setting the correct time will avoid getting Keyboard issues, and poor networking performance.

2) Favourites lost if X2 crashes

Some users are being very creative and linking files to Favorites which wern't expected to be linked, such as pls files (fixed in 1.0.2). This can cuase the X2 to crash with the file Favlink_HDD open and in use, with the result it gets corrupted.

Users are advised to make a backup of Favlink_HDD before and after they make big changes to Favourites, or before they install new firmware, or before they try to be similarly creative.

3) Slideshow of Network hosted Photo's crash

Set Slideshow to ‘on’ - Navigate to image folder over Samba Network and select the first image and the Slideshow starts. Now press ‘Menu’ button and select Music and navigate to music file also over samba network and it tries to start but then shows ‘invalid’ and then all goes wrong -
To avoid this you have to accept that the SDK can only mount one root path from Samba or NFS so the picture and the music folder must be in the same root folder and must on same PC.

4) DNS Server Setting

Please set Manual DNS as you would your PC for network connection.
0.0.0.0 no longer works to access both Local DNS server, and internet DNS server.

5) Upnp Server

The server was added to progress the development of the DLNA DMR. The default configuration supplied by Mediatomb doesn't support Video. So you should only expect to stream Music stored on the X2 for the time being.

6) Google

Google has been added to the Main IPTV selection so that it is available even if the Mede8er site is down. Unfortunately if you enter Google via this link you can't exit by pressing Return. You must press Stop.

7) Youtube XL

Signing In Crash

This is best done using a Keyboard/Mouse. Use the Mouse to select Sign In. Then use the keyboard Tab key to get the Text Input Cursor (vertical line) visible in the User Input field. Input Username. Tab to Password. Input Password. Now press Enter on the Keyboard.The mouse cursor will still be where you left it so you can quickly move to other options.
Do not Tab to the Sign In button!!!!!!!

Video limited to Window mode

Use the Remote/ Keyboard Zoom button to use Full Screen Mode


8 ) Using Time Skip and Next/Previous chapters in Goto


It is possible to use these functions whilst displaying Goto. But you should note that the default Goto input is still the Time Input (top left). This remains at the time you entered Goto. So to keep the changes you have made you must exit using Ret. If you press OK your actually accepting the Goto Time Input!


9 ) Reset Medialibrary to Top

Somewhere in the mists of time it was requested that Home wouldn't reset Medialibray to Top. If you are deep in the directory structure and want to move elsewhere in Medilibrary, Press Blue. Yes this takes you to Favorites, but it also resets Medialibrary. So you can now press Home and enter Medialibrary at the Top

10) Subtitles

This intransigent problem is not being deliberately ignored. Can you please remember to clear subtitles during the opening Logo of a movie if you don't want them.

11) Lost DTS HD Master Audio after pausing/resuming movie?
If you've lost the audio after pausing/resuming/fast forwarding/rewinding a movie with DTS HD Master Audio, push the "skip back" or "skip forward" button.


12) BD.ISO stutters when streaming after firmware upgrade, when it didn't before.

Did you have a keyboard, or keyboard dongle attached when you installed the firmware? Remove and re-seat the keyboard/dongle. The problem should go away.
This problem can be avoided by removing the keyboard/dongle before installing firmware.

13) Power Down with Samba directory displayed, and Workgroup is lost.

Press blue and go to Favorites, thus re-setting Medialibrary to Top, before Powering Down.

Αυτή τη στιγμή μεταφέρω περίπου 100 GB από ταινίες στον εσωτερικό σκληρό που έβαλα στο μηχάνημα και γι αυτό το λόγο δεν μπορώ για την ώρα να ανεβάσω φωτογραφίες με το μενού,την εικόνα του κλπ.Αυτά θα τα κάνω αύριο που θάχω πιο πολύ χρόνο και θάμαι ξεκούραστος!

Να σας γράψω λοιπόν τώρα τις πρώτες εντυπώσεις για το μηχανάκι:
Εχουν προσθεθεί πολλές νέες λειτουργίες και δυνατότητες,που άλλοι θα τις λατρέψουν και άλλοι θα τις μισήσουν.Οι γυναίκες σας/κοπέλες σας και τα παιδιά σας θα τις λατρέψουν,είναι σίγουρο!Δε θα ξεκολλάνε,με αποτέλεσμα να εκνευρίζεστε που δεν μπορείτε να απολαύσετε την αγαπημένη σας ταινία γιατί η σύζυγος βλέπει...τον Πλούταρχο στο YouTube ή κάνει chat στο facebook!
Οπως καταλάβατε στο Med500X2 έχουν ενσωματώσει πολλά social media αλλά και ιντερνετικές υπηρεσίες:
Youtube,facebook,twitter,google και άλλα πολλά!

Για όλα τα παραπάνω είναι προτιμότερο να χρησιμοποιούμε ένα ασύρματο ή usb keyboard & mouse,ωστόσο στις βασικές λειτουργίες τους θα μας καλύψει και το remote που μετατρέπετε σε ένα βασικό αλλά χρηστικό πληκτρολόγιο.
Σύντομα θα κυκλοφορήσει η Mede8er το δικό της ασύρματο πληκτρολόγιο με mouse pad οπότε τα πράγματα θα γίνουν πιο εύκολα:

Εγώ προς το παρόν του σύνδεσα ένα usb της Logitech που έχω που δουλεύει μια χαρά!
Από αναφορές όμως στο φόρουμ των mede8er δουλεύει άψογα και αυτό το mini ασύρματο keyboard:

Το οποίο πιθανόν θα το παραλάβω αύριο από ένα μαγαζί στο κέντρο της Αθήνας,αλλά δεν είναι απόλυτα σίγουρο!

Για το μενού του,είναι πάντα το καλαίσθητο μενού των mede8ers,ανανεωμένο όμως και με νέες επιλογές.Εχω την εντύπωση όμως ότι η περιήγηση είναι λίγο πιο αργή από τα Mede8er προγούμενης γενιάς.Λογικό μιας και πρόσθεσαν περισσότερα πράγματα και περιμένουμε με κάποιο firmware update να γίνει πιο γρήγορο.

Οσον αφορά την εικόνα και τον ήχο:
Εδώ έχουν γίνει τεράστια βήματα προς το καλύτερο.Ο ήχος θα κάνει τους μουσικόφιλους να λατρέψουν το μηχανάκι και να είναι μια από τις πρώτες επιλογές αγοράς!
Στις ταινίες τώρα,η εικόνα είναι εμφανώς καλύτερη από τα Mede8ers προηγούμενης γενιάς,τα προβλήματα με την κίνηση που υπήρχαν πριν,φαίνεται να εξαλείφτηκαν σε μεγάλο βαθμό (αν όχι να απουσιάζουν πλέον) και μπορώ να πω ότι το Med500X2 κοντράρει στα ίσα πολύ ακριβότερα media players,ίσως αν δεν τα προσπερνάει ακόμη, σε επόμενα firmware να το κάνει!
Πραγματικά ακόμη και μέτρια .avi δείχνουν πολύ καλά με το upscale του player (και με μια καλή τηλεόραση εννοείται)!

Το firmware τώρα έχει θεματάκια ακόμη,αρκετά!Πιστεύω θα λυθούν σύντομα τα περισσότερα,μιας και είναι...θεματάκια όπως είπα πριν και όχι χοντρά bugs.
Με το 1.0.2 αυτό που παρατήρησα είναι ότι υπάρχει πρόβλημα με το smb.Αργεί πολύ να συνδεθεί και αν επιλέξεις άλλο πρωτόκολο αργότερα,το χάνει πάλι.Με την 1.0.1 δεν γινόταν αυτό.
Με NFS πάει super,όπως και με UPnP.
Επίσης έκοψαν το FTP οριστικά,για να μη χακάρουν το firmware όπως μας είπαν στο φόρουμ τους.

Φυσικά το med500x2 μπορεί να γίνει nas server με επιλογή ονόματος που θα φαίνεται στο δίκτυο αν θέλουμε.Το default είναι mede8er

Πάμε στο youtube τώρα!Μπορούμε να κάνουμε login στο account μας,search κλπ.Υπάρχουν μερικά bugs εδώ πχ login μπορούμε να κάνουμε μόνο αν έχουμε συνδέσει keyboard όχι με το remote,θα διορθωθούν όμως σύντομα πιστεύω!

Πατώντας το πλήκτρο zoom απ'το remote βλέπουμε σε full screen το βίντεο
