Ever since we spotted Arcam's debut Blu-ray player at the CEDIA Home Technology Event, we've been sniffing around the UK brand for any more info on the player. Finally, after some late-night breaking-and-entering and other corporate espionage, we've got a bit more info – and these exclusive new pics of the deck in its black and silver guises.
First of all the player now has a name – the Arcam FMJ BDP100 – something that was missing from its outing at CEDIA. A release date of the end of August has also been confirmed.
Loading times are claimed to be very fast (an Arcam source told HCC it's way quicker than its Denon rivals), and Blu-ray AV performance 'impeccable'. Naturally, given Arcam's hi-fi heritage, the BDP100 is also touted as an excellent two-channel audio source.
While the spinner isn't 3D capable, an upgrade path is in place, with an optional update to support the next-gen format scheduled for in 2011.
The BDP100 will retail for around £1,000.
