Ο Κόνορ είναι 12 ετών και θα πρέπει να διαχειριστεί την πολύ σοβαρή ασθένεια της μητέρας του, πράγμα που τον αναγκάζει να περνάει πολύ χρόνο με την καθόλου συμπαθή γιαγιά του. Επιπλέον έχει να αντιμετωπίσει τον καθημερινό εκφοβισμό από τους συμμαθητές του ενώ ο πατέρας του βρίσκεται μίλια μακριά με νέα σύζυγο και άλλο παιδί. Ξαφνικά ένα βράδυ, λίγο μετά τα μεσάνυχτα ένα τέρας εμφανίζεται στο παράθυρο του Κόνορ και απαιτεί από αυτόν να τον ακούσει. Θα του διηγηθεί τρεις ιστορίες και μετά ως αντάλλαγμα θα πρέπει ο Κόνορ να του διηγηθεί την δική του ιστορία.
