ATI All-In-Wonder 2006 PCIe Edition

ATI Technologies has announced the All-In-Wonder 2006 PCI Express Edition. This new multi-function video card offers an all-in-one choice when it comes to playing games, listening to FM radio and watching, recording, pausing live TV. Adobe’s excellent Premiere Elements 2.0 is even bundled with the product to help edit your home-made videos.

Joining the previously announced All-In-Wonder 2006 Edition (AGP), this new multimedia video card rounds out ATI’s offerings for mainstream consumers. Powered by the Radeon X1300 GPU, the All-In-Wonder 2006 for PCI Express is designed to give consumers a wealth of multimedia features at an affordable price.

Based on cutting-edge 90-nm manufacturing process, the card’s ultra-threaded 3D architecture is optimised for Microsoft’s DirectX 9 and Shader Model 3.0 to deliver high-end performance on all the great new PC games. Plus, the graphics technology offers a 450MHz engine and 256MB of 400MHz GDDR3 memory.

ATI’s popular multimedia software now works even better with existing ATI TV tuner products. Dual-tuner MulTView support now allows timeshifting on two TV tuners simultaneously when paired with an ATI TV tuner card, including the Theater 550 Pro. Uniquely designed ‘domino-style’ connector dongles offer input and VGA plus DVI-I monitor output connectivity for flexibility and easily accessible combinations.

The North American version of All-In-Wonder 2006 for PCI Express includes a TV tuner for instant viewing of up to 125 channels of cable or analogue antenna broadcasts with FM broadcast reception, Gemstar’s GuidePlus+ intelligent free integrated program guide to view, search, schedule and record TV programs at the click of a mouse, and a unified application for both analogue and free over-the air HDTV broadcasts (US only) when combined with HDTV Wonder.

European All-In-Wonder 2006 for PCI Express customers will receive a TV tuner that receives 125 channels of cable or analogue broadcasts plus DVB-T and FM tuning capabilities, Program Guide support with TVTV for analogue TV and DVB-T programs, SCART (Syndicat des Constructeurs d'Appareils Radiorecepteurs et Televiseurs) connector for televisions, and Multimedia Center 9.12 with a unified TV interface for both DVB-T digital and analogue broadcasts.

Optional feature available from ATI include a third-generation radio-frequency remote control device that now includes improved support for Windows XP Media Center Edition, and allows for complete computer control through a wireless interface. For users who prefer a traditional Windows XP Media Center Edition remote control, a 50 per cent reduced price offer is included. The card can even be HDTV equipped with an optional adapter.

The All-In-Wonder 2006 is available now for $199 (£115).
