Astonish… Astound… Amaze... and, Revolutionize... : four new projectors from avielo by projectiondesign® to take center-stage at CEDIA Expo 2010
Fredrikstad, Norway, September 22-26, 2010 – Cementing its reputation as the undisputed innovation leader in projector development for home-theater applications, avielo by projectiondesign® comes to CEDIA Expo 2010 with four stunning new DLP® projectors to take the custom installation industry by storm.
These movie series projectors will be shown alongside the brighter and newly created entertainment series of avielo projectors. The entertainment series projectors are optimized for every day viewing in the living room’s ambient lighting conditions and are designed specifically for watching sports, videos and playing video games.

Astonish…
Introducing the avielo optix SuperWide 235 – the world’s first native 2.35:1 home-theater projector uses the latest high pixel-density DLP chip, developed in partnership with Texas Instruments (TI), to deliver true 2538 x 1080 resolution. No more black bars, no more secondary lenses softening image clarity. Now it is possible to watch movies in native wide format, just as the director intended. See for yourself how the optix SuperWide 235 takes you ‘beyond Blu-Ray’ into a world of truly authentic movie reproduction in the home.

Astound…
Announcing the avielo optix 3D – the company’s own unsurpassed take on 3D projection for home theaters. Based on the Residential Systems magazine’s RESI Award-winning avielo optix Full HD projector, the avielo optix 3D adds a proprietary image processing engine to create 3D from stereoscopic sources including the latest Blu-ray Disc players and sources with single HDMI 1.4 outputs.

Amaze…
Featuring a specially designed, optically pure light engine and many other enhancements, the new avielo helios Studio Edition is quite simply the ultimate in high-performance home-theater projection. Entirely hand built in Norway, each one is subjected to the most painstaking quality control to ensure that it produces a smoother, richer, more distortion-free image than any other 3-chip home-theater projector.

Revolutionize...
Saving until last what is irrefutably one of the industry’s most amazing revolutions in projection technology, the new trio to be launched at CEDIA Expo will be alongside the world’s first Remote Light Source™ (RLS) projector, the avielo radiance RLS.
projectiondesign’s patent-pending avielo radiance RLS projector puts the lamps, thermal management and maintenance away from the projector head to a rack-mount unit up to 100ft (30 meters) away. Light gets carried to the projector head on a rugged line called a Liquid Light Guide (LLG). The flexible LLG uses a water-based liquid to transfer the light to the projector head, so one can project from virtually anywhere and do the required maintenance in rooms separate to the projection environment. These qualities make it ideal for installations in home theater rooms where background noise needs to be eliminated and silent and in spaces where real-estate is premium. All maintenance can be performed remotely in the rack-mounted enclosure situated up to 100 ft (30 meters) from the projector head using a Liquid Light Guide. avielo by projectiondesign sees this technology as the way forward for projection. All technology incorporated inside this projector is designed, developed and manufactured in Norway.
Together with the existing models in the avielo range, these four hot new products demonstrate the vast depth and breadth of experience behind the avielo brand. Anders Løkke, International Marketing & Communications Manager, projectiondesign, says: “Since launching the avielo brand we have been steadily extending and improving the range – combining our expertise in projection for movie preview and post-production with an absolute commitment to give custom installers and integrators products that their end customers will love.
“We’re excited to be bringing our biggest-ever product offering to CEDIA Expo, and feel sure that visitors to our booth will find at least four reasons to rethink what is possible in today’s home-theater installations – if not more!”

Beyond Blu-ray : World’s First Projector to Display 235 :1 content natively at 1080p vertical resolution from avielo by projectiondesign®
Fredrikstad, Norway, September 22-26, 2010 – More pixels, more brightness, more resolution, and an image that is exactly as the movie director intended – that’s the promise behind the avielo optix SuperWide 235 from projectiondesign®.
Making its worldwide debut at CEDIA Expo 2010 in Atlanta between September 22-26, 2010, the avielo optix SuperWide 235 utilizes a new high-resolution DLP® chip, developed by projectiondesign engineers in partnership with Texas Instruments (TI), that allows an image of 2538 x 1080 resolution to be displayed in the home for the first time without the use of additional optics.
Until now, in home theater applications, the only way to truly watch a picture in 2.35:1 full format was to add additional bulky lenses to the front of the projector and then scale the picture to fit the screen. Even using high-quality optical glass, these lenses inevitably impact on image clarity and can reduce measured picture brightness by up to 10%. Now, thanks to the new avielo projector, the days of adding expensive lenses are at an end!
Explaining the significance of native 2.35:1 aspect ratio projection, Anders Løkke, Marketing & Communications Manager, projectiondesign, says: “The Blu-ray Disc media is considered by most to be the heart of the High Definition format, and sets the standard for true HD home theater. However, Blu-ray Disc is based on a 1.78:1 image format. In order to fit a 2.35:1 image on a device that is 1920 pixels wide, the vertical resolution must be reduced to around 800 pixels.
“Using industry-leading video processing, the avielo optix SuperWide 235 formats the 1920 x 800 image to an astonishing 2538 x 1080 picture. This combination of adding pixels to the width and using the full height of the picture at 1080 results in an astounding increase in image quality and impact over a standard projector and source.”
By way of comparison, avielo’s SuperWide 235 format uses 78% more pixels for native 2:35:1 display versus a standard 1080p projector with a Blu-ray Disc 2:35 format movie.
Best of all, this increase in resolution is achieved without compromise, as Løkke explains: “When the image goes from 1.78 to 2.35:1, the projector uses increased native resolution to expand the width of the image without impacting the height.
“To provide the best possible performance, the all-new projection lenses and optics in the avielo optix SuperWide 235 are custom-designed for 2538 x 1080 pixel resolution. All lenses use special aspherical glass elements and enhanced, low-dispersion glass for increased contrast, improved color saturation, and above all, excellent sharpness, producing unsurpassed image clarity and incredible detail.”
The result is a smooth, bright, crystal-clear image across wide-format, home-theater screens for the first time. With the avielo optix SuperWide 235, movie lovers can finally enjoy a true cinematic wide-screen experience, with more brightness and impact than ever before!
