Όταν μετατρέπουμε ένα CD σε flac με το exact audio copy τα αρχεία δημιουργούνται σε 24 /192 ? Και τα flac που κατεβάζουμε γράφουν κάπου σε τι είναι?

δεν εχει νοημα να το κανεις αυτο,αν και τεχνικα γινεται,γιατι πολυ απλα δεν εχει κανενα πρακτικο οφελος μιας και τo cd εχει χαμηλοτερη (πολυ) ψηφιακη αναλυση και συγκεκριμενα 16/44.1.

Krell Vanguard Universal DAC:

To νέο δικτυακό DAC της Krell δέχεται σήματα PCM μέσω ομοαξονικής και HDMI μέχρι 24/192 και μέσω οπτική έως και 24/96.

. . . CONCLUSION

Those not convinced of just how good Krell can be, should give this one a go, and particularly the digital version. This one just does everything except make coffee, and allows user adjustment of settings from the comfort of your armchair, and does it all with both authority and tenderness. If you want a large-scale performance in your living room, especially in the speed of sound and stereo spread, you will like this one, but if you want easy listening, then go elsewhere; this Vanguard will keep your attention for as long as it’s switched on.

Η ATC ανακοίνωσε την έκδοση mk2 του CDA2.

Το κορυφαίο front end (CD player/DAC/Προενισχυτής) της εταιρίας είναι, πλέον, διαθέσιμο στην έκδοση mk2, με ανασχεδιασμό πολλών από τα μέρη που το απαρτίζουν, νέο κορυφαίο ολοκληρωμένο μετατροπής d/a, δυνατότητα χειρισμού streams υψηλής ανάλυσης μέσω USB, νέο transport και νέα αναλογικά στάδια. Στην πραγματικότητα, η ATC δεν άφησε και πολλά πράγματα χωρίς να τα αλλάξει ή να τα βελτιώσει και η σχετική λίστα είναι μεγάλη σε μήκος.
Ίσως η σημαντικότερη αλλαγή να αφορά το ψηφιακό μέρος του CDA 2, το οποίο περιλαμβάνει θύρα USB μέσω της οποίας μπορεί να πραγματοποιηθεί streaming μέχρι τα 384kHz (PCM) και επιπέδου DSD256 (DSD). Η θύρα USB συνοδεύεται από συμβατική ομοαξονική και οπτική είσοδο (24/192) και υποστηρίζεται από έναν κορυφαίο μετατροπέα 32-bit της AKΜ. Η εταιρία αναφέρει ότι η καταστολή του jitter είναι “εξαιρετική” και ότι το CDA 2 είναι ιδιαίτερα ανεκτικό σε πηγές μέτριας ποιότητας ή καλώδια μεταφοράς ψηφιακού σήματος με μεγάλο μήκος. Το ψηφιακό πακέτο συμπληρώνει ένα νέος μηχανισμός ανάγνωσης οπτικών δίσκων ο οποίος προέρχεται από την Teac.
Η ATC δεν έχει αφήσει ήσυχο ούτε το αναλογικό μέρος της συσκευής. Εδώ, υπάρχει αναβάθμιση τόσο στην τροφοδοσία (με εννέα σταθεροποιημένα τροφοδοτικά) όσο και στο ίδιο το κύκλωμα. Οι Βρετανοί παρέμειναν πιστοί στις αρχές τους και χρησιμοποιούν οκτώ συνολικά βαθμίδες τελεστικών ενισχυτών (υλοποιημένους με διακριτούς ημιαγωγούς), δύο από τις οποίες παίζουν τον ρόλο του απομονωτή και τέσσερις (δύο ανά κανάλι) τον ρόλο του σταδίου εξόδου, σε balanced αρχιτεκτονική, με τελικό στάδιο σε τάξη Α και τοπολογία Sziklai. Οι balanced έξοδοι, στην περίπτωση του CDA 2 Μκ2 έχουν ιδιαίτερο νόημα καθώς η συσκευή είναι σχεδιασμένη με το μυαλό στα ενεργά ηχεία της εταιρίας ή, για όσους θα ήθελαν μια περισσότερο συμβατική λύση, τον τελικό ενισχυτή P2 (εννοείται, βεβαίως, ότι το CDA 2 μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί και σε άλλα συστήματα, χωρίς πρόβλημα).
Όσοι χρησιμοποιούν αναλογικές πηγές, έχουν στην διάθεσή τους δύο εισόδους στάθμης line στην πίσω πλευρά και μια βοηθητική είσοδο με βύσμα TRS 3.5mm στην πρόσοψη. H βοηθητική είσοδος έχει αυξημένη ευαισθησία, ώστε να αξιοποιεί καλύτερα σήματα από συσκευές όπως είναι τα smartphones και τα tablets. Αναβαθμισμένος είναι, τέλος, και ο ενισχυτής ακουστικών του CDA 2, ο οποίος μπορεί να οδηγήσει ακουστικά με ονομαστική αντίσταση από 30Ω μέχρι 600Ω, μέσω ενός συμβατικού βύσματος TRS 6.4mm.
Τις λιγότερες αλλαγές, τελικώς, τις έχει υποστεί το σασί του CDA 2 mk2. Εδώ, η ATC έχει χρησιμοποιήσει τμήματα από χάλυβα και αλουμίνιο με εσωτερική απόσβεση ώστε να ελαχιστοποιηθούν οι συντονισμοί, ενώ η πρόσοψη είναι κατασκευασμένη από προφίλ αλουμινίου 13 χιλιοστών. Η συσκευή είναι διαθέσιμη στο κλασικό ασημί χρώμα, διαθέτει τηλεχειριστήριο και συνοδεύεται από εγγύηση 6 ετών για τα ηλεκτρονικά μέρη και 2 ετών για τον μηχανισμό ανάγνωσης των δίσκων.

HoloAudio Spring "Kitsuné Tuned Edition" Level 3 D/A processor

The HoloAudio Spring is a member of an interesting but nearly extinct subfamily of D/A converters called R-2R or ladder DACs. Ladder DACs date back to the dawn of digital, and use cascaded voltage dividers consisting of resistors (valued R and 2R) to passively convert pulsing bitstreams to continuous analog voltages . . .

. . . The HoloAudio Spring measures 16.9" wide by 2.2" high by 11.8" deep and weighs 18.75 lbs. Inside its solid case of copper and black-anodized aluminum are two entirely separate, fully balanced converters: a 24-bit, discrete R-2R for PCM, and a discrete resistor network to handle DSD up to DSD512. Both employ designer Jeff Zhu's patented "linear compensation," which is not clearly described on KitsunéHiFi's website but which I imagine is a second (parallel) resistor ladder. According to Zhu (footnote 1), this "will accurately compensate the resistor tolerance." Regarding the Spring's unique ability to handle native DSD with a discrete resistor-ladder DAC, "The DSD module of Spring does not use R2R architecture for the DSD, more specifically it uses a very specific architecture which is optimized to perform DSD to analog." Both modules employ a "paired transistor" op-amp input stage and an output stage employing direct-coupled bipolar junction transistors . . .

. . . The maximum output level at 1kHz in the Spring's NOS, OS, and OS PCM modes was 4.95V from the balanced outputs and 2.475V from the unbalanced outputs, the latter 1.85dB higher than the CD standard's 2V. However, the output levels dropped by 6dB when I switched the Spring to DSD mode. All outputs preserved absolute polarity. (The XLR jacks are wired with pin 2 hot.) The unbalanced output impedance was close to the specified 200 ohms, at 218 ohms across the audioband. The balanced output impedance was twice that value, as expected . . .


. . . HoloAudio's Spring DAC offers mainly excellent measured performance. While some more questionable aspects of that performance are related to the NOS mode's lack of a conventional digital filter, the oversampling modes behave much better on those specific tests. But there's something funky in the Spring's rejection of word-clock jitter, particularly in the left channel . . .
