TEAC UD-H01 USB DAC


Vincent Kars hinted us that TEAC, the mother ship, has quietly launched (in Japan and Europe) the new UD-H01 DAC with Asynchronous USB transfer mode and a built in headphone amplifier. Using two 32 Bit 192kHz Burr Brown converters, the DAC upsamples data to 192kHz. It has coaxial and optical inputs and both XLR and RCA outputs. Due to be available in July for £299. Also launching together is an AirPlay adapter that will enable you to transform your existing HiFi into an AirPlay compatible device, also for £299. This DAC looks almost too good to be true in terms of specs+quality/price.

θα βρείτε και φωτογραφία από τα εσωτερικά του από ένα γαλλικό σάιτ. Μάλιστα πωλείται και ακριβότερα απ΄ότι εδώ. Υπάρχει και κάποια συζήτηση γι΄ αυτό σε αντίστοιχο γαλλικό φόρουμ για όποιον ενδιαφέρεται και καταλαβαίνει γαλλικά εδώ. Αν μπορεί κάποιος, ας παραθέσει κάποια πληροφορία, φαίνεται ενδιαφέρουσα περίπτωση για 375 ευρώ.

Σε δύο τουλάχιστον καταστήματα που ρώτησα σε Πειραιά και Καλλιθέα, θα υπάρχει πάλι από 20 Ιανουαρίου (η πρώτη παρτίδα απ΄ ότι είπε ο ένας ήδη εξαντλήθηκε) στα 375 ευρώ. Στο ένα απ΄ τα δύο μάλιστα εμφανίζεται και στο σάιτ του. Λογικά όποιος πουλάει TEAC θα το έχει στον κατάλογο.

TΟ whathifi !!!! θαβει ολα τα μη αγγλικα προιοντα !! πρεπει να ερευνηθει και αυτο σε σχεση με τα ισης αξιας ( dac-magic κα!!)

M2Tech Vaughan USB DAC with Preamp


The long awaited high-end DAC that we have all been waiting for M2Tech to release, the Vaughan DAC. Like the affordable sibling the Young, the Vaughan features 32bit/384kHz operation and a plethora of inputs to satisfy any high-end systems needs and then some.







The list of inputs includes: 2 x AES/EBU, 2 x BNC S/PDIF, 2 x RCA S/PDIF, 2 x Toslink Optical, 2 x ST Fibre, 1 x Word Clock in, 1 x I2S and finally 1 x USB. Output is via unbalanced RCA or fully balanced XLR.

Other features include a dedicated headphone amplifier and 32-bit digital dithered volume control, allowing the Vaughan to feed directly into your power amplifiers.







Finally, the Vaughan features 8 DA Converters, using 4 per channel and although not yet confirmed, these are probably Burr Brown chips.

The DAC features 32/384khz capability, asynchronous USB with custom drivers, word clock input, ST glass fiber input, 8 x DAC chip used (4 per channel), dedicated discrete headphone output, and 32-bit digital dithered volume control

It appears that Arcam have been busy over the last few months designing their new Super DAC the D33. Featuring a host of inputs and twin burrbrown 24/192 DACs the unit is expected to arrive at the end of February for £2000.
