Ένα συγκριτικό μεταξύ Prime 3.0, Max και Pro είναι απαραίτητο (πριν αλλά και μετά την αλλαγή της board στα τελευταία μοντέλα) !
Ελπίζουμε να βγεί και κανένα καινούργιο firmware που θα κάνει τα μηχανήματα πύραυλους !!! :107:
Βλέπω πως το Lite 53D έχει στο "filesystems: NTFS (read-write)" λέτε να δούμε φως και στα υπόλοιπα μοντέλα ?!?!?! :114:

Prime 3.0 & Max θα γίνει σίγουρα.Αν θα υπάρχει και το Pro θα δούμε,αν και δε νομίζω το Pro να αφορά τόσο το μέσο χρήστη.Καλό θα είναι πάντως αν μπορούμε να το δούμε σε σύγκριση με τα υπόλοιπα μοντέλα.
Σχετικά με το NTFS read/write το αναμένουμε και στα υπόλοιπα μοντέλα,το έχει υποσχεθεί καιρό τώρα η Hdi!

Στην επίσημη ιστοσελίδα του Max αναφέρει πως έχει read-write aceess σε NTFS και φοράει ίδιο chip με την σειρά 3.0 !!! αυτό σημαίνει πως σύντομα θα δούμε την ίδια δυνατότητα και στην προηγούμενη σειρά ?!?!?
Το Max αναμένεται στην αγορά τέλη Σεπτεμβρίου, (μέχρι τότε θα πρέπει να υπάρχει και το ανάλογο firmware) άντε να δούμε τα "ξαδελφάκια" να κονταροχτυπίουνται !!!

Στο mpcclub παρέλαβαν το 1ο Dune HD Max για τεστ.Ιδού οι πρώτες εντυπώσεις:


Yesterday after work, we were able to pickup the MAX unit from HDI. So far we have been playing some BD disks and generic content and everything seems to run smooth. This may not be a surprise knowing the firmware is the same as with the BD Prime and Base units. The main difference is a new casing and optional Tuners that can be added along with the promise of future upgrade ability. The unit is dead silent with a disabled FAN (can be enabled / disabled) and has a silent drive, very silent indeed.

Coming to think of why we pay more above the HDI Prime 3.0 (there is after all a price difference in the amount of €125), we figure the promise of upgrades later on, the new design of the unit and the HDD drive cage are the only things to make up for that money (as tuners are purchased separately). For existing owners the upgrade to the MAX may just be a little too steep and pointless however new customers may be interested going straight to the MAX if they prefer the design, like an easy swappable hard drive and like the future promises of HDI concerning tuners and upgrades...

Obviously since the firmware is the same, our review will be somewhat limited to reviewing the hardware and stuff that makes the MAX different from the 3.0. We just felt like confirming the drive is absolutely silent and the unit looks "yammy"... For details, check back soon to get the introduction in a review...

Update 1:
HDI informed us the drive is custom made by BTC and uses Sony optics and engine. In addition we have made an internal image of the unit as to show what's on the inside of the great looking exterior design...

Update 2:
HDI already announced a new update for the MAX and earlier units will be getting these changes too.
Finalized the new feature of vertical subtitles shifting during Blu-ray playback
Added a possibility to vertically shift also PGS and VobSub subtitles during file playback.
Improvements of handling of PGS subtitles in MKV and TS files.
Improved “HDMI audio” setting (when disabled, it does not force DVI mode any more).
A new setting allowing to force DVI mode on HDMI.
A new setting allowing to specify output colorspace (Auto, BT.601, BT.709, RGB-Full, RGB-Limited; defaults to Auto which means BT.709 for HD output resolution and BT.709 for SD output resolution).
A new setting allowing to specify default decoder colorspace (for playback of files which have no explicit specification of the actually used colorspace) (Auto, BT.601, BT.709; defaults to Auto which means BT.709 for files in HD resolution and BT.609 for files in SD resolution).
A new setting allowing to persistently remember Zoom mode (for files/DVD).
A new setting allowing to enable on-screen indicator during recording.
Fixes for Avatar Blu-ray playback.
Some other fixes/improvements.

Ακολουθούν τα αποτελέσματα της δοκιμής του Dune Max όπως τα έδωσε το mpcclub:

Pros:
- Excellent menu system / setup / flexible main interface
- easy integration of network shares
- Basic firmware provides cover art systems many applications are based on for the Dune
- Full capability of HD playback for video and audio
- FAN control ON/OFF by Setup (Reasonably silent fan)
- Silent BDLoader, faster load times, no noise, pretty stable
- Excellent design by view except minor shortcomings (plastic front, HDD cabinet not removeable, BDLoader looks a big ugly when opening the tray keeping it from plain view)
- Accessible hard drive caghe for swapping HDD's
- Card reader integrated in fron for easy access
- Future expansion / upgrade ability (not sure a benefit but offered)
- Compatible with DVB-T USB and Wireless already available
- Adequate PSU to handle all devices connected (tested)

Cons
- No eSATA
- Experimental GBIT (works or it doesn't so 10/100 mostly recommended)
- A bit heavy (approx 7 - 8 kg)
- Expensive
