ADAM Audio founder and long-term head of R&D, Klaus Heinz launches new company HEDD
Klaus Heinz and his son Frederik Knop founded the Berlin-based family business HEDD | Heinz Electrodynamic Designs in October 2015. At NAMM, HEDD introduces three analog active studio monitors with optional digital connectivity. Series ONE is comprised of three speakers: Type 05, Type 07, and Type 30. Each of these three models features improved woofer designs, modern uni-body cabinets in matt black, the latest generation of ICE power® amplifiers, and a sophisticated new version of Klaus Heinz’ well known Air Motion tweeter design (the HEDD Air Motion Transformer).
• Type 05 active near field monitor: 5,5“ woofer, HEDD AMT tweeter, 2x50W RMS amplifier, 45Hz–50kHz frequency response, max. peak 103db SPL
• Type 07 active near field monitor: 7“ woofer, HEDD AMT tweeter, 2x100W RMS amplifier, 32Hz–50kHz frequency response, max. peak 107db. SPL
• Type 30 active midfield field monitor: 2x7“ woofer, HEDD AMT tweeter, 4x300W RMS amplifier, 30Hz–50kHz frequency response, max. peak 116db SPL
Furthermore, HEDD | Heinz Electrodynamic Designs developed a modular input card system called the HEDD Bridge. Individually fitted to the needs of users, every speaker may be equipped with one optional AES3/AES EBU, Dante Audio or Ravenna /AES67 card for Audio-over-IP integration (USB2 and Wireless card solutions will follow during 2016). HEDD studio monitors are the first loudspeakers worldwide to combine analog monitoring with the ability to fully integrate with audio-related protocols over Ethernet. This makes them team players in IP-based recording and mastering studios but also in more complex multichannel environments such as Dolby Atmos, Auro 3D, broadcast or live concerts, where multiple separate loudspeakers have to be administrated and fed with individual high resolution audio streams.
