"Denmark’s Jamo has released the follow up to their flagship R 909 open baffle dipolar speaker, called the R 907. The R 907 is simply a scaled down version of the R 909, approximately 20 percent shorter and 15 percent slimmer. It uses the same open baffle, exposed basket dipolar design, with dual 12” woofers in place of the R 909’s 15” woofers.

The R 907 uses the same magnesium cone midrange as the R 909, but instead of a ScanSpeak Revelator tweeter, it uses a 25mm silk-dome tweeter suspended and isolated from the rest of the speaker via Jamo’s ”Decoupled Tweeter Technology," which reduces vibrations transmitted from the front baffle to the tweeter by more than 20dB, for greater high frequency detail. The R 907 will be available in red or black finishes, and is priced at $8,999/pr."

Summing up: Jamo's R907 presents a seamless, highly coherent sound. Sweeping from LF to HF reveals how the R907’s subjective response diverges from the upward linear path to somewhat subdue tone. Music with a predominant midrange won't get the special treatment. Vocal sections are in danger of being blanked out by the R907’s fleshy and voluminous bass but that depends on the music sample. Like the R909, the R907 is not a speaker for small spaces and I believe that some of my conclusions about its bass performance are explained not by the speaker itself but by the moderate room size of my audition even though the space was acoustically treated to attenuate resonance modes below 200Hz.

The R907 has a big spacious sound as dipoles often seem to and easily tracks complex heavy music with decent purity. Due to the omnipresent sound, delineation of recorded space in the middle frequencies is compromised and the soundstage is therefore not markedly 3-dimensional. The sonic focus is on the line between the speakers.

Cooperation and coherence between tweeter and midrange is excellent, contributing to the speaker’s ability to reproduce timbre with reasonable accuracy. All in all, at its best the R907 can sound fantastic with a big dose of realism and subtlety. But that's not the whole story. On specific music, the speaker could be a bit more analytical, brighter and clearer - in short, more self-explanatory.

Εγώ πάντως δεν μπορώ να καταλάβω πως μπουμάρουν τα δίπολα χωρίς καμπίνα.:140:

Πως δεν έχουν καμπινα! Το δωμάτιο όλο γίνεται καμπίνα και γι'αυτό είναι ρυθμισμένα να κατεβαίνουν μέχρι τα 35Hz ενώ έχουν δύο 15" (υποθέτω δηλαδή). Με καμπίνα αυτό το ηχείο θα ήταν subwoofer!!

Από τα λεγόμενα του 6moons μπορείτε οι πιο έμπειροι να συνάγετε κάποιο συμπέρασμα σχετικά με τα ανοιχτής μπάφλας ηχεία γενικότερα?

Ενδιαφέρομαι κυρίως για τους περιορισμούς παρά για τα ατού μιας τέτοιας σχεδίασης (π.χ., ρηχή εικόνα, συγκεχυμένη λεπτομέρεια) και το κατά πόσο οι μηχανικοί της Jamo τούς έχουν υπερβεί.

Στην εκθεση ειχε ανα τετοιο η McIntosch, γενικα παρολο που καθησα κατι παραπανω απο μια ωρα και το ακουγα δεν μπορω να πω οτι με ενθουσιασε. Βεβαια γουστα ειναι αυτα, επισης δεν σημαινει οτι το Jamo θα ακουγεται με τον ιδιο τροπο.

Ενδιαφέρομαι κυρίως για τους περιορισμούς παρά για τα ατού μιας τέτοιας σχεδίασης (π.χ., ρηχή εικόνα, συγκεχυμένη λεπτομέρεια) και το κατά πόσο οι μηχανικοί της Jamo τούς έχουν υπερβεί.

Τουλάχιστον για μένα, αν ο δοκιμαστής δεν ξέρει τί λέει, ή αποφεύγει τις ουσιαστικές επισημάνσεις γράφοντας αοριστολογίες - διαλέγεις και παίρνεις, μου είναι αδύνατο να βγάλω κάποιο συμπέρασμα διαβάζοντας άρες - μάρες - κουκουνάρες:

Πάντως, η εικόνα και η ευκρίνεια του ακούσματος δεν εξαρτώνται από τη φόρτιση του μεγαφώνου, αλλά από την ποιότητά του σε συνάρτηση με την ισχύ που καλείται να απορροφήσει, καθώς επίσης και από την ηχογράφηση, η οποία μπορεί να συνεπικουρηθεί από κάποιο μικρό ή μεγάλο χώρο πίσω από τα ηχεία.

Με την ευκαιρια το μεγαλο του αδερφακι που η τιμη του ειναι στον "ΗΧΟ" το αναφερει 9.900 ευρω πριν απο λιγο μπηκα στο σαιτ ενος σουπερ μαρκετ του Σαντανσκι Βουλγαριας και το πουλουσανε ολοκαινουριο 3.500 ευρω. Μου φαινοτανε απιστευτο.
